IFS promoted as cure for autoimmune disease?

Has anyone else encountered this? My family member has had their mind broken by this modality, but that's another story. What's disturbing me lately is they're not the only person I've met in my city who has started advocating for IFS as a cure for their autoimmune disease or allergies.

Just now, I saw comments from Dr. Tori Olds on her YouTube page. People were telling her that IFS therapy made their MCAS symptoms "disappear" and she was responding with comments like "oh I LOVE this!", just glossing over or agreeing with the person that IFS gives you the ability to mentally overpower systemic disease.

With MCAS itself questioned as possibly "over-diagnosed" (see https://www.jaci-inpractice.org/article/S2213-2198(24)00065-5/fulltext), I can't stop seeing this as more evidence that IFS attracts impressionable people who are looking for any answer, who may already be dealing with one or more inaccurate medical diagnoses as it is because it gave them hope or it's now part of their identity. (I'm NOT saying MCAS isn't real, but I can agree with this "suspected referral cases outnumber the proven cases"). Now, IFS can become an important part of their identity, too, while having the power to cure them of something they may not have. Which is then used as evidence of its efficacy...

(edit: since this is my first post here, wanted to add that I am a survivor of therapy abuse too, but my story is much older than what I'm currently going through with an immediate family member who is under complete dependence of IFS therapy. This includes a new and heartbreaking problem, false memories. Between the implanted memories and "unattached burdens" demonic possession angle, it's now impossible to discuss or critique IFS with family member. Therapist recommends "no contact" with anyone who questions it. So we've completely stepped back to show respect. Anything other than total complacency will be seen as proof family member needs to isolate and focus only on the job they hate. I accept this but doesn't mean its not painful to watch unfold.)
