Physical side effects?

Does anyone know what the actual physical side effects of SH is? Other than potentially hurting danger zones?

This might sound stupid, I know that. But doesn't doing it over long periods of time...challenge your immune system or does it weaken it?

I'm not worried about scars or anything like that. But can it Kickstart an autoimmune diease the same way anxiety does/a cold/virus?

I'm asking about side effects that don't get caused by infection, as that's more like a instant issue rather than a "later down the line" issue.

How long should it sting?

Its been about 4-5 days and they still sting. They are surface cvts but they still sting and usually they stop stinging by day 3. I'm very ritualistic because last year, one of them got infected.

Is cleaning my blade, cvts, showering often enough to keep them from infection or am I screwed?

Is this just a normal healing process?

Edit: its been 3 days I was wrong, but i still tend to heal quicker than this

My friends make comments

TW? Not sure

Im F18 and I recently went to a week long activity with some of my friends. Relapse was recent, and on my shoulder.

On one day it was extremely hot and I wore a tank top, but because I knew it would be visible so I wore a sweater. Me and a friend (m16) were sitting talking because we were given a job to do but it was pretty boring. And as we were talking- my sweater slipped and I didn't notice at first. He saw and his eyes locked on to it and he didn't say anything. But I know he saw it so, I covered it up and moved on. Later on I had talked about how I was worried about swimming and having to wear a bathing suit and he was about to ask me why and then said "oh right"

Then this same week there was friend 2 (f17)

She is a outspoken person and tries to be supportive but sometimes she does it in ways that aren't appropriate. For example, a similar situation with my sweater happened a day later and she saw it. Then said very loudly "did you run into something?" I covered it up and said "something like that, yea"

I was assuming she was just oblivious but she said that on purpose, "oh yeah, how what did you do?" In a sarcastic tone. So I panicked and told her to leave it.

Again later on we were playing around and she wanted to shave her eyebrow (don't ask) and I offered to let her use my knife. And no I do not use this knife to engage in any *activity*

She started to grill me on the SH- asking if i had used this to hurt myself, and I was kinda pissed because like- just bc I had a couple things on my arm doesn't mean I do it with any mildly sharp object.

I said "no this doesn't cut skin" and her response was "oh so you do it with other things?" She's also doing this very loudly and there are other people around that I barely know. I got her to drop it for the night, 2 days later she gives me a hard time about holding scissors.

Here's the thing, these 2 friends are some of the sweetest people I know of. Friend 1 gets it so to him, maybe he's just desensitized. And friend 2 means well, but it's just a little embarrassing.

Do you think its worth talking to them about this? It's been about a month since this happened so maybe I should let it go. However it bothers me still because I think when I talk to them now, they treat me as if I'm fragile or can't be trusted around mildly pointy objects.
