There is an incident that's occurring everytime I pass by my coworker!!
So me and my coworker say good morning, hi, or wave everytime when we pass by each other, or just say something in general. While it is of course a common thing and common courtesy, it genuinely gets annoying when every single time you're passing by them you're speaking each time, saying hi, waving, or whatever interaction it is. At that point, it starts feeling like it's forced and like you need to speak to them everytime you pass by them. It's especially worse when we're in a long hallway walking past each other and there's no objects to look at and barely any other people. What goes through your mind is "should I speak or not speak?" Tension builds up. Eye contact also tends to be more uncomfortable with her than normal.
Because even if we were to make actual or accidental eye contact, it feels like we need to speak. Since they're the only one passing by you and barley anything else to look at passing by, it can make you look at them. When this happens, it does get so uncomfortable and I do have to look down at the floor or act like I'm messing with my hair. My coworker did something similar sometimes. One time when we were about to walk past each other, she saw me in the distance and she was holding a few items. I noticed she dropped them on purpose and then she picked them up slowly. I did take a different path to walk.
