It’s been a fussy one

I’ve had the Nag 500 for a few weeks now, been a bit busy to really dial it in but over the last week I’ve found the time to get it optimised. How sensitive is this cartridge!! 😱 I had an AT33PTG/ii at one point and that was a bit fussy but not to the 0.5° level the Nag is.

I’ve come from a Nag 200 and I think I have an understanding why some folk tend to prefer the 200, if the 500 isn’t absolutely smack on the magic doesn’t really happen. But oh my! when that little gold and black cartridge is right it’s like walking through the music. It’s actually rewarding in another sense that my turntable and phono stage is able to act as a good enough foundation to aid the Nag, something that I was a little bit concerned about tbh.

Anyways, it’s fab! I love it, how much is the MP-700 again? 🤔😆

Anyone ever tried these?

Mazda foreign 12AT7 Hungary. I got these a while back, been doing a fair amount of tube comparisons recently with some pretty sought after tubes. These little buggers, (well, they’re actually bigger than a regular 12AT7) are absolutely oozing with expression and colour, tones are so vibrant and beautifully shaped. The top and bottom end is fabulous too. Currently paired with some Mullard i63’s in my tube phono, can’t find anything that matches them 🤷🏻‍♂️

Bit of a sound demo..
