Accidentally got sucked back into daily logins, and I need a better mobile routine
I mostly play on my phone in short bursts: subway rides, waiting for coffee, lunch breaks. I jump between puzzle games and whatever is easiest to pick up and put down. Last month I reinstalled a couple of old titles to kill time, and somehow I slipped back into the daily login loop.
It started harmlessly - a free chest here, a quick event there. Now I catch myself thinking, "I should open the app before reset so I do not waste stamina." Once I am in, I do a few more things because it feels inefficient not to. I am not spending money, but the mental bandwidth is real.
I like mobile games that respect short sessions and do not punish you for missing a day. I am fine with progression, quests, and even a battle pass if it is not built around FOMO. I just do not want my breaks to turn into chores.
For people who have been through this, what actually worked for you?
Genres you find less sticky (premium puzzle games, roguelites, deckbuilders, etc.)
Games where you can take a week off and not feel behind
Phone settings or habits that helped keep gaming fun (notification rules, time limits, separate folder, etc.)
Bonus points if it scratches the same itch as daily puzzles or simple collection goals without turning into a second job.
