serves as the core Flask web application for the Job Portal System. It establishes a PostgreSQL database connection using SQLAlchemy and defines models for users, job seeker profiles, employer profiles, job postings, and applications. The app handles user authentication (signup and login), profile creation, job posting by employers, job applications by seekers, and session management, rendering HTML templates for the user interface. The application runs in debug mode and creates database tables on startup.

How to turn off the programming language % in GitHub

So, I’m building a simple LinkedIn-like website as a beginner project using Python, Flask, and PostgreSQL. The backend is fully written by me and only took around 200 lines of code, while the frontend HTML ended up being much larger.

Now when I upload it to GitHub, the language stats show almost 80% HTML and only 20% Python, which feels a bit misleading since I’m mainly focused on backend development. The frontend was mostly generated with AI just to make the project usable, so it doesn’t really represent my actual skill set.

Edit:- I am beginner and don't know much about industry, apparently no one cares about this

I’m currently at a beginner-to-intermediate level in programming. I can build web applications similar to a simple LinkedIn clone using Python, Flask, and PostgreSQL.

But with how fast AI is improving, I’m honestly scared about my future. AI models can already solve problems and write code faster and smarter than me. Even the free AI tools are incredibly powerful, so I can’t imagine how advanced tools like Claude Code or Codex really are.

People keep saying “AI is just a tool,” but that feels disconnected from reality. If you ask an average programmer working at an average company, AI can already do a large part of their work.

So sometimes I wonder: why would a company hire someone like me as a fresher?

I just finished 12th grade, and the uncertainty is frustrating. The thing is, I genuinely love coding, and I think my learning path is already more advanced than most beginners. I’m trying hard to improve, but it’s difficult not to compare myself to AI every day.

I am crying rn thinking to go far from this world
