Need some help identifying finish on old Steven’s model
Hello, I have a J. Steven’s model 94a chambered in 16ga given to me by my grandfather shortly before he passed. I was suppose to receive it over a decade ago, but due to my father not believing that I could work on it he sent it to one of his gunsmith friends I few years back to work on it.
I fired it for the first time today, as I was able to finally get it back a couple weeks ago. On more than half of the shots we fired, the auto-ejector failed and the shell had to be removed manually. This, among a few other things, has led me to doubt the ability of the gunsmith that worked on it prior. I included this as I believe this copper-looking finish ight not be stock, but the result of a poor refinishing job, but I don’t know to be sure.
Does it look like poor blueing? Or something else entirely?
