Is it possible to use rent and utilities to build credit history?
I’m trying to get approved for a better credit card sometime next year, mostly for travel/cashback rewards, but my file still feels pretty thin. I have one basic starter card right now, no missed payments, and I keep the balance low, but my score/history still doesn’t look strong enough for the cards I actually want. I’ve been paying rent, utilities, and my phone bill on time for a while, but none of that shows up on my credit report. Has anyone used rent or utility reporting to build more history before applying for better cards?
