Opening two new cards at the same time as 19 yr old.

So context: i'm 19 and I have two credit cards (9 months oldest) that i pay off on time no problemo: a discover student card and bofa card with no annual fees. my dad ended up getting me an american airlines card like now as i will be using american airlines often for traveling to school and stuff. i use amazon a SHIT ton so i wanna get the amazon prime visa and because i want to recieve a free 200. there is no annual fee to the prime visa as well. is the temporary drop in credit bad as i know new credit cards hurt due to inquiries and length of credit cards?

Brain fade Kiwi Card

So I had a brain fade moment which costed dearly.

I had to pay Rs. 94400 for a professional subscription charges. The payment gateway had UPI option but when I went through it, it didn't allow Rupay credit card payment. So I went back selected credit card option, entered Kiwi Card details and paid it. thinking that this will satisfy my 2nd and 3rd milestones and will get rewards accordingly.

But suddenly moments after I entered the OTP and the transaction was successful, a dreadful feeling hit me and the sad realisation came after.. This transaction will not bother my kiwi milestone at all. Because kiwi milestone is only for UPI spend. And this was a non-UPI spend..

I just did it very instinctively because I used to do the same with Tata Neu UPI where it would not be accepted in UPI gateway but then enter it normally and still the rewards would be applicable. If only I had paid more attention, I could have easily used Tata Neu Infinity, which would have not only gotten me Neu coins, but also would have hit the spend limits on 2nd day of the quarter, enabling lounge access codes as well..this is the first time I've done it in Kiwi and so I'll have to wait till the statement generation to see what reward I'll get. I expect Yes Bank rewards at 2points per Rs.100 for non upi spending. And I don't know what's the value of that. Then I'm sure redemption will be another sh#t show...

What an absolute waste!!

Just wanted to share for conscious awareness in case someone like me who instinctively forgot about this due to habit..

Jaago Graahak Jaago.. (unlike me)

Is my fathers cibil reflecting under my name?? *NEED HELP*

I have been using my father's old Airtel SIM card for the past six years because he no longer needed it. Before I started using it, the number was linked to several of his financial products, including credit cards and an ICICI Bank account. Over time, all of those credit card accounts were closed, and only the ICICI savings account remained active. I still use that account occasionally as an extra bank account.

Over the last six years, this phone number has essentially become my primary number. Everything is linked to it—my SBI bank account, Groww account, email addresses, Instagram, and almost every other important account I use.

I am 21 years old and have recently started learning about CIBIL scores. Since I have never taken a loan or credit card, I expected to have little or no credit history. However, when I checked my CIBIL score through the PhonePe app, it showed a score of around 400.

I know that my father's CIBIL score is poor because our family faced financial difficulties a few years ago, and his credit score never recovered. Since this SIM card is still officially registered in my father's name, I am worried that PhonePe might be showing his CIBIL score instead of mine.

I want to build a good credit history for myself and don't want my father's past financial decisions to affect my financial profile. Is it possible to transfer the ownership of this Airtel SIM card to my name? If yes, what is the process? Also, how can I confirm whether the CIBIL score I am seeing actually belongs to me or to my father, and what steps should I take to ensure my own credit history remains separate?

Bilt Palladium Restricted After First Use

I was just approved for the Bilt Palladium and tried to make a large purchase with the digital card number right after approval. The transaction was declined and my card was immediately blocked.

I got an email saying my account needed identity verification and that I’d receive another email within 30 minutes with the next steps. It’s been several hours now and I still haven’t received anything (checked spam/junk too).

I called Bilt/Cardless support and they weren’t able to do anything or give me any timeline. They basically just said to wait.

People on here say it takes 30 days to fix that’s kind of insane. I wish this hard pull and 400 dollars wasn’t just charged to me 😭. This company is a mess 😭

What is classed as income for a credit card?

Hi, I’m 19 and looking for a credit card to build my credit score. I receive about £4,400/year through carers allowance, and I don’t currently have a job. The credit card i’m looking to get - the requirements say your income must be over £5,000/year. I have proof that my mum transfers me a certain amount every month which would mean i would be over the minimum, but does this count as income? Any help would be appreciated.

Approved for Amex gold with 60k point SUB after spending 8k in 6 months, is this offer worth it?

I was just approved for the Amex gold card with a 60k SUB if I spend $8,000 in the first 6 months and am bummed that I didn’t get the 100k SUB and want to know if this is even worth accepting. I apparently have until July 5th to call and let them know or they will close it out.

I’ve read in other threads that people have used incognito windows to re-apply to get the 100k bonus, but was confused by the steps you need to follow to do this.

My credit score is 751, but I was told the offer isn’t based on your credit score. Do I decline this offer regardless of whether I try to reapply for a higher SUB simply because the value of this offer isn’t great or should I consider accepting it? What are the chances I am able to get a higher one? What do I need to do to try and get it higher and to increase my odds of doing so?

I'm trying to get my credit Score back on track.

What's the best way to boost my credit score and get rid of the negative items on my credit report? Has anyone here actually had success fixing their credit?

Is it possible to use rent and utilities to build credit history?

I’m trying to get approved for a better credit card sometime next year, mostly for travel/cashback rewards, but my file still feels pretty thin. I have one basic starter card right now, no missed payments, and I keep the balance low, but my score/history still doesn’t look strong enough for the cards I actually want. I’ve been paying rent, utilities, and my phone bill on time for a while, but none of that shows up on my credit report. Has anyone used rent or utility reporting to build more history before applying for better cards?

Got SBI Cashback just 3 months after getting my SBI PhonePe Card

Thought I'd share my experience in case it helps someone who's on the fence.

I got my SBI PhonePe Purple Credit Card around 3 months ago. After using it for a while, I realized I couldn't really make good use of the 3% rewards. All transactions on PhonePe have convenience fees, so for my spending it just wasn't worth it.

Yesterday (23/06/2026, around 9 PM), I finally decided to apply for the SBI Cashback Card.

Honestly, I was almost sure it would get rejected because:

  • I already had an SBI credit card that was only 3 months old.
  • SBI Cashback is generally considered one of the harder SBI cards to get.

During the application, it showed that the card would be issued with a shared (combined) credit limit. After submitting, the tracker showed "SBI needs some additional information," so I thought that was probably the end of it.

But today around(24/06/2026) 11 AM, I got the approval message. The card was approved with a shared credit limit.

The recent devaluation doesn't really affect me since my monthly online spends are well below ₹20k.

What's more interesting is that my girlfriend also applied yesterday in the same way, and her application got approved too.

So, if you already have an SBI card (SimplySAVE, SimplyCLICK, PhonePe SBI Card, etc.) and have been avoiding applying because you think SBI Cashback is difficult to get, it might still be worth giving it a shot. If approved, it'll most likely come with a shared credit limit.

Just sharing a data point. Approval is obviously case-by-case, but hopefully this helps someone.
