Brain fade Kiwi Card

So I had a brain fade moment which costed dearly.

I had to pay Rs. 94400 for a professional subscription charges. The payment gateway had UPI option but when I went through it, it didn't allow Rupay credit card payment. So I went back selected credit card option, entered Kiwi Card details and paid it. thinking that this will satisfy my 2nd and 3rd milestones and will get rewards accordingly.

But suddenly moments after I entered the OTP and the transaction was successful, a dreadful feeling hit me and the sad realisation came after.. This transaction will not bother my kiwi milestone at all. Because kiwi milestone is only for UPI spend. And this was a non-UPI spend..

I just did it very instinctively because I used to do the same with Tata Neu UPI where it would not be accepted in UPI gateway but then enter it normally and still the rewards would be applicable. If only I had paid more attention, I could have easily used Tata Neu Infinity, which would have not only gotten me Neu coins, but also would have hit the spend limits on 2nd day of the quarter, enabling lounge access codes as well..this is the first time I've done it in Kiwi and so I'll have to wait till the statement generation to see what reward I'll get. I expect Yes Bank rewards at 2points per Rs.100 for non upi spending. And I don't know what's the value of that. Then I'm sure redemption will be another sh#t show...

What an absolute waste!!

Just wanted to share for conscious awareness in case someone like me who instinctively forgot about this due to habit..

Jaago Graahak Jaago.. (unlike me)

I had my two Sting cold drink bottles confiscated by security at a Delhi security check but I got 2 bottles in while checking in from Bangalore and they allowed that even after flagging my bag for it.

I asked the Delhi security guy about it and he started giving me gyan like do you want me to talk about Bangalore staff mistakenly allowing it or do you want me to talk about rules. And he started blabbing about rules that 100ml above liquid is not, then why water is being allowed more than 100ml, deo/body spray being allowed more than 100ml etc..

Whatever the explanation is!! ..I want to understand the logic behind this stupid thing as there are a whole lot of vending machines which will dispense liquids more than 100ml which I can carry into the aircraft!!

Is it a waste rule that has been going on, I don't know, for god forsaken time? Or what's the logic behind it?
