Air India offering Business Class upgrade for ~₹40k from Premium Economy (MAA → BOM → FRA) on AI2828 + AI2027 — worth it?
Booked Air India Premium Economy for:
- MAA → BOM (AI2828)
- BOM → FRA (AI2027)
Originally the long-haul sector was showing:
Boeing 787-9 with the new bespoke interiors
and honestly that was one of the biggest reasons I booked Air India 😅
But now the Air India site is showing:
Boeing 787-8 series instead
Current situation:
- Existing PE booking cost me around ₹55k total
- Air India is offering Business upgrade for around ₹40k extra
- Final effective trip cost becomes close to ₹1 lakh
I’m flying to Germany for masters, so trying to decide if this is:
- genuinely good value OR
- just pre-move emotional temptation 💀
Things making me consider it:
- 9+ hour overnight BOM → FRA leg
- flat bed
- lounge access
- first international move
BUT:
Now that equipment changed from:
787-9 bespoke interiors → older 787-8
I’m confused whether Air India Business is still worth paying ₹40k extra over PE.
Would love opinions from people who’ve recently flown:
- AI 787-8 Business
- AI Premium Economy on Frankfurt route
- or experienced both cabins.
Especially curious about:
- actual seat quality
- sleep comfort
- food/service consistency
- whether older AI 787-8 business still feels premium enough
- or if PE is the smarter value move her
Missed connection: IndiGo 6E086 from DMM to HYD today
Hey guys, posting this here on the off chance she or one of her friends sees it because the regret is eating me alive right now.
I was on the IndiGo flight from Dammam to Hyderabad today (6E086). I was sitting in 23C, and there was a girl in front of me in 22B reading The Cruel Prince by Holly Black.
We kept stealing glances the entire flight. You used your mirror to look back at me, you dropped your bookmark and I picked it up for you, and at one point your hair fell back through the seat gap. I wanted to talk to you so badly, but both of our parents were sitting right next to us so it was impossible. I actually wrote "Hi" in blue pen on an IndiGo paper cup and held it up, but I don't know if you saw it.
We even kept staring at each other at HYD immigration, but my line cleared way before yours and I had to leave with my family.
If by some crazy miracle you see this and want to say hi properly this time, shoot me a DM. Just tell me what color shirt I was wearing so I know it’s actually you.
Need clarity about cabin-in bag
I booked my flight under student fare in indigo. I got 25 kg checkin luggage+7kg hand bag
I am bit confused about this
Can I take following
A big suitcase under 25kg and a small suitcase(55cms one) weighing about 7kg + my handbag with only electronics(might weight about 3 kg)
Am I violating any rules? Please do help me.

✈️ Support Direct Flights Between Amravati and Pune

I have started a public campaign to request the launch of direct commercial flights between Amravati (Belora Airport) and Pune.
Previously, FLY91 expressed interest in operating routes such as Amravati–Pune and Amravati–Goa. The airline is already operating regional flights from Jalgaon, showing its focus on improving regional connectivity.
This initiative has received support from several public representatives and community members because direct flights would:
- Save valuable travel time for IT professionals, students, business travelers, and families.
- Make it much easier for parents and senior citizens to visit their children working in Pune.
- Boost tourism, business, healthcare access, and investment opportunities in the Vidarbha region.
- Strengthen connectivity between two important cities in Maharashtra.
If you believe better regional air connectivity is important, please support this initiative by signing and sharing the petition:

Every signature helps demonstrate public demand for this route. Thank you for your support!
Never expected that one of the plane spotting places could be right in the middle of AIIMS!

Is going to Mumbai Airport safe tonight??
Tonight my sister's coming to India, I have to go pick her up. I'm from Nashik, and heard a lot about waterlogging, road closure. Ill be coming from samruddhi highway anyway, but are the inner roads in the city connecting to airport really closed? Help
Two unusually cheap international fares from Hyderabad right now — Bali at half price and Bangkok nonstop at ₹26.6k
I track flight prices from Indian cities daily as a side project. Two HYD
fares are way below normal right now:
1. Bali — ₹29,829 return on Vietjet (1 stop), multiple November date combos.
This route normally runs ₹55-60k, so it's roughly half price. Perfect if
you're planning a year-end trip. (Vietjet fare is cabin-bag only — add
~₹3-4k if you need checked baggage.)
2. Bangkok — ₹26,624 return, NONSTOP on Air India Express, Aug 25 → Aug 30.
In 6 months of tracking this route I've never seen it under ₹27k. Usual
fare is ₹32-34k.
To find them: search HYD → DPS (Bali) or HYD → BKK on Google Flights and
open the date grid — flex a few days around November / late August for the
cheap combos.
Fares this far below normal rarely last more than a few days. Happy to share
exact date combos in the comments if anyone wants them.
What's one thing you wish you knew before your first solo flight?
I'm planning to travel solo for the first time in the next couple of months, and while booking flights seems easy, I feel like there are a lot of small things no one tells you until you've actually flown alone.
For those who've done it before:
What mistake did you make on your first solo trip?
Any airport or airline hacks that saved you time or money?
Do you prefer early morning flights or late-night ones when traveling alone?
Anything you'd definitely avoid doing?
I've watched plenty of YouTube videos, but I feel real experiences are way more useful than generic travel tips.
Would love to hear your stories or advice. Hopefully this thread can help other first-time solo travelers too.
SpiceJet lost my checked baggage for my entire trip. They admit it never left Bangalore. What are my legal options?
I flew from Bangalore to Mumbai on SpiceJet. When I landed, my checked suitcase never arrived on the baggage belt.
I immediately filed a baggage complaint at Mumbai Airport and was told I’d receive a call. It’s now been over a day, nobody has contacted me, and the phone number they gave me either rings unanswered or isn’t picked up.
I went back to the airport in person and was simply told to “wait.”
Today, I was informed that my suitcase apparently never even left Bangalore, meaning it was never loaded onto my flight.
The worst part is that my trip ends tomorrow. My entire suitcase contained my clothes, toiletries, medicines, and other essentials. I’ve had to spend money buying necessities, and I’m currently on my period, which has made the situation even more stressful.
I’m flying back to Bangalore tomorrow—also on SpiceJet—and still have no idea where my baggage is.
What to do at Delhi airport?
I've got 7hr layover at Delhi Airport suggest places or any attractions to visit during the time
PS: Flight lands at 10:10 PM
Scammed by IndiGo, need help
Hey everyone, I need some advice on how to handle a dispute with IndiGo airlines.
The Backstory
:Back in May, I booked a flight from Bali to Guwahati for July, with a layover in Delhi. In early June, I received an email stating that one of my connecting flights was cancelled. IndiGo offered a free reschedule or cancellation. Because other airline options were too expensive at the time, I didn't take immediate action. Since the flight was more than a month away, I assumed they would automatically assign a reasonable alternative connection. On July 4th, I checked my booking. To my surprise, the schedule had been changed to include a massive 15-hour layover in Bengaluru, and the departure was 8 hours earlier than originally planned. I never received any email or notification about this specific schedule change.
The Conflict:This new layover was completely unacceptable to me, so I called IndiGo customer support to explore a full refund so I could book with another airline.
Call 1: The first agent refused a full refund, claiming that I had manually updated the flight schedule myself on June 22nd (which I absolutely did not do). No resolution was reached.
Call 2: I called back and spoke to a different agent. Without me even explaining the previous call, this agent admitted that the flight schedule was automatically updated by the system/airport authority. He explicitly offered a cancellation with a full refund. I confirmed multiple times on the call that I would get 100% of my money back. He assured me I would, so I authorized the cancellation.
The Issue:Today, having received no confirmation email, I checked the IndiGo portal. My booking of ₹29k was cancelled, but they charged me a ₹9k cancellation fee, meaning they are only refunding ₹20k.I called them again today. The new agent told me that the previous representative gave me "wrong information" and denied the full refund citing company policy. They have asked for 48 hours to investigate, but I doubt anything will change.
Even if they falsely claim I changed the flight on June 22nd, their agent gave me completely incorrect information that directly induced me to cancel the booking.
Crucially, I have a call recording where the current agent explicitly admits and confirms that the previous agent gave me false information during the cancellation process. How should I proceed? Since I have clear audio proof of them misleading me into a financial loss, what is the best way to escalate this to ensure a full refund?
Confusing baggage policy
I booked an American Airlines-issued ticket ( class S) for travel: Dallas → Doha → Chennai on Qatar Airways (operated flights).
Here’s what I’ve found so far:
* AA says my ticket allows 1 checked bag (1PC)
* Qatar Airways economy usually allows 2 bags (2PC) on long-haul routes
* Qatar confirmed that my booking system shows only 1 piece allowed
* So it looks like I’ll likely only get 1 free checked bag, even though Qatar normally allows 2
* Called Qatar customer service - they said it’s booked through AA, so their policy is only 1, but Qatar allows 2 if booked through Qatar. When I called AA customer service, AA allows 1, but it’s up to Qatar at the airport baggage check in. I’m confused.
My questions for anyone who has actually flown this route / setup:
- Has anyone flown AA-issued economy on Qatar Airways long haul?
- Did you get 1 bag or 2 bags at airport check-in in reality?
- Did Qatar ever allow 2 bags at the airport even when the booking showed 1?
- Is there any chance of a system override at check-in?
- Any tips to avoid paying the ~$150 second bag fee?
Just trying to avoid surprises at the airport.
Lesson learned: book directly with Qatar next time. Thanks in advance 🙏
Delhi airport IGI T3
I wanted to know how safe it is to park you car for about a week at T3, IGI
Can I take Rubik's cube with me on plane?
I have a flight tomorrow, and I like to solve Rubik's cubes, naturally I am taking 3-4 of them with me, all of them are magnetized. So should I put those in my check in luggage or in my cabin luggage to avoid any hassle? Edit: Also I would like to take atleast one in cabin luggage, to help me through the journey.
Mobile Data Switch on- how soon?
How soon do you switch on mobile data? I was travelling 3 days, and saw people switching on mobile data as soon as the airline announced about landing. What do you call this behaviour?
IndiGo advertised "Zero Change Fee" but is now charging me to change my booking. Has anyone else faced this?
I booked an IndiGo flight between 24th June and 30th June, during their promotional period for 6Eskai.
I even received a WhatsApp message from IndiGo saying:
✅ Zero Convenience Fee
✅ Zero Change Fee
Now I need to change my flight, but IndiGo is asking me to pay a change fee, even though I booked during the promotional period.
I've attached a screenshot of the promotional message I received.
I understand that every offer has terms and conditions, but if my booking qualifies, why am I still being charged?
Has anyone else experienced this?
Did IndiGo honor the Zero Change Fee for your booking?
Were you able to get the fee waived after contacting customer support?
Any advice would be appreciated before I escalate this further.
