Got SBI Cashback just 3 months after getting my SBI PhonePe Card
Thought I'd share my experience in case it helps someone who's on the fence.
I got my SBI PhonePe Purple Credit Card around 3 months ago. After using it for a while, I realized I couldn't really make good use of the 3% rewards. All transactions on PhonePe have convenience fees, so for my spending it just wasn't worth it.
Yesterday (23/06/2026, around 9 PM), I finally decided to apply for the SBI Cashback Card.
Honestly, I was almost sure it would get rejected because:
- I already had an SBI credit card that was only 3 months old.
- SBI Cashback is generally considered one of the harder SBI cards to get.
During the application, it showed that the card would be issued with a shared (combined) credit limit. After submitting, the tracker showed "SBI needs some additional information," so I thought that was probably the end of it.
But today around(24/06/2026) 11 AM, I got the approval message. The card was approved with a shared credit limit.
The recent devaluation doesn't really affect me since my monthly online spends are well below ₹20k.
What's more interesting is that my girlfriend also applied yesterday in the same way, and her application got approved too.
So, if you already have an SBI card (SimplySAVE, SimplyCLICK, PhonePe SBI Card, etc.) and have been avoiding applying because you think SBI Cashback is difficult to get, it might still be worth giving it a shot. If approved, it'll most likely come with a shared credit limit.
Just sharing a data point. Approval is obviously case-by-case, but hopefully this helps someone.
