Upgrading my Sewing Machine
I am an advanced beginner/intermediate sewer, and I am looking to upgrade my machine. I currently have a Kenmore machine from the 80s that has lots of broken parts, so I’m wanting to upgrade.
It seems like the most popular are the Husquvarna Viking, Brother CS7000x, and Janome Memorycraft. I am hesitant about the spend on the memorycraft. Can anyone speak to these machines? Or have a recommendation at a similar price point?
I currently have the Brother1034D serger.
Edit to add: budget - ideally under $500, I could be convinced to go higher based on the machine. I sew garments and I do not quilt nor do I intend to start quilting. As for computerized v non- I don’t really care. I just want it to do the basic functions well. My current machine struggles with a buttonhole and the zipper foot is long gone. I also do not often sew with stretch materials
Please do not recommend a used or vintage machine. I am not interested in that at this time. Also not interested in spending $5k on a Bernina, though I would love one. Thank you!
