Very harsh on bumps, is this normal?

I’m driving my first mini (2017 countryman) and it’s pretty rough over any sort of bump in the road. I really feel everything and try my best to avoid any sort of bump in the road but sometimes it’s unavoidable. Every bump I go over I get my bones rattled and worried the car is going to fall apart (obviously exaggerating a tad here).

Is this typical for a mini ride? Or is it something with my specific used car I should look into getting fixed? This is my first time driving a small & low car like this, I’ve also only ever driven AWD so I’m just not sure if this is normal or not.

Thanks in advance!!

Does the IDR repayment amount seem right?

Hi all! Pretty much same boat as everyone else. Graduated in 2022, haven’t had to make payments due to the SAVE act, just had to redo everything and recertify for a new IDR plan. I made around 65k last year and will do 70k this year and they’re saying my monthly payments are $400 for about 40k in loans (no private). I own a house, not married, no dependents.

I know my situation could be much worse..way more loans, even crazier payments so I’m not complaining…but I just wanted to check if this seems right? I’m definitely having sticker shock going from no payments to $400 due next month. I never cared if I had to pay these off until I die, I just always wanted the lowest payment amount…and now in a little bummed to know if my salary continues going up my payments will just go up more.

First Mini Ever - Welcome my new (to me) 2017 Countryman! Share your secrets & Tips!!

My 2011 VW Tiguan finally died on me - I had her since I was 17 yrs old and am now 30!

I always wanted a mini but it felt like a dream - everyone told me it was impractical and too expensive. Well here I am!! I was not ready to pay the current prices of the bigger SUVs that I was hoping would be my next car…then my boyfriend suggested I get the fun car I always wanted and have smaller payments until I’m ready to move on to something bigger. (Which I may NEVER do now!)

So, he helped me find this gorgeous lady! She’s beautiful inside and out and was so well taken care of! I’m having so much fun driving her and even though she’s only 2017, it’s such an upgrade from my previous car - I have Bluetooth connection, heated leather seats, roof rails, and a panoramic sunroof!

I’m trying to learn everything I can about her. So far I have driven her in sport, mid, and green mode. I try to drive in green mode during the week to work to save on gas as much as possible, but maaaaaan, is sport mode fun!

Please share with me all your fun (or not so fun but good to know) mini insider information! I feel like I’m in the cool kids club now 🥹
