Can we make these?

I just made this with Gemini, but it should be in the glove compartment of every one sold.

I passed my first Mini the other day, waved excitedly like a little goober, and was completely ignored. It made me so sad.

(I know they're not in order, but Gemini doesn't know that.)

Very harsh on bumps, is this normal?

I’m driving my first mini (2017 countryman) and it’s pretty rough over any sort of bump in the road. I really feel everything and try my best to avoid any sort of bump in the road but sometimes it’s unavoidable. Every bump I go over I get my bones rattled and worried the car is going to fall apart (obviously exaggerating a tad here).

Is this typical for a mini ride? Or is it something with my specific used car I should look into getting fixed? This is my first time driving a small & low car like this, I’ve also only ever driven AWD so I’m just not sure if this is normal or not.

Thanks in advance!!

27 Oxford Questions

Hey everyone!

I have tried searching and have also reached out to a mini dealer so I am sure I will get these answered but also figured I would come here in case folks had more info or if I have missed anything.

I am currently looking at a 27 Oxford 2 Door. I know you pay deposit fee of 250$ and then sort of go from there, but as a Mini dealer is like 4 hours away from me both ways (Cincy or Knoxville) I don't have anyone I can just pop into see on a whim (again I did reach out via email/their site so im sure someone will call me) to ask about some of my questions.

I know the 25,500 doesn't include like TTL and the Destination, does anyone have a rough estimate of what it costs? I am guessing somewhere in the 28k range? But I may be wrong.

I have also heard the financing is different, we have perfect credit, but of course with interest rates now its untelling what those would be even for new, does it have a special rate outside of the current cooper rates (i want to say its 1.9% for a normal cooper? but I may be wrong).

Has anyone done this with a trade? I would assume since its not mentioned you may have to trade separately to the dealer or a carmax/carvana type, which is fine, but also something I was looking at logistically.

Any other tips or thoughts or answers I'd be glad to have them.

Thanks for your time and responses!

New to the family 🚗

Hello! I recently purchased a used 2023 MINI Cooper S, Iconic trim edition (66k miles).

Few things happened:

- Within the first week, the check engine light came on. Scan showed a code (posted below) saying my air-to-fuel mix was too rich.

- Went to the mechanic. Did a smoke test. No leakage. They reset the check engine light.

- Two days later, the check engine light popped up again, and I'm scheduled to go see the mechanic again, 4 days after having gone for the first problem.

Has anyone had a similar experience? What could it be? The onboard diagnostic tools show all my fluids/tire pressure/brakes/etc. are fine. My gas cap is fully tightened. The only weird thing that it's doing is that my mileage range per gas tank (picture below) is all over the place: sometimes I drive 30Miles and it actually goes UP. Sometimes I drive .6 miles and it drops by 3-4 miles.

I absolutely LOVE this car and am already low-key obsessed. Any help would be SO appreciated 😭

Mini JCW brakes f56

So I have a mini JCW 2015 , before buying the car I seen so many reviews about how good the brakes are , well I don't feel like mine are that good , the brambo discs and pads are fine . Brake fluid recently been changed , they seem to bite straight away but then when I'm really hard on them they don't seem to brake that well , it's like oh I'm gonna stop these are really good , 2 seconds later , it's like I hope I stop in time lol . I have an auto and when I put it in reverse, they squeal now and again , yet I've had them checked my a mini specialist and they say they don't need changing . Any help would be great

R56 - Can anyone please confirm/deny that this part should be slightly bent upwards on the rear sunroof?

Mine doesn't fully close anymore, and that part has a bent in it on both sides.

New car, mixed feelings and understeer

Hi, recently joined the club and got myself a used 2019 Cooper S. I wasn’t really searching for MINI at the current state, but knew I would like to have one someday, in my family we had several while I was growing up, my mom had R53 Cooper, R60 Cooper SD and F56 SE which I drove a lot when got my driving license and that ar specifically left me with a desire to own a MINI one day. So I sold my perfect MK7 GTD and initially wanted to buy MX-5 or Focus ST and then I came across this car which was locally available, checked it, fell in love and decided to get it. The spec looks quite unique for me, though I always preferred MINI in bright colours, car has pretty much every option that was available to order, which is also not so common. 85000 km.

Immediately after purchase I went to set the alignment and bought a set of Hankook Ventus S1 evo3, similar to the ones I had on my Golf, loved them and thought that it would let me compare those cars in a best way. And now we come to the disappointing part, the driving experience. I liked driving my mom's SE as it was fun and quite agile, it was easy to make it rotate and the torque was mindblowing for such a little car. What surprised me was that this car drives so much different to that, it is much softer and adaptive shocks are not that great for spirited driving, Sport mode makes the vehicle unsettled over bumps and does not really make car that much more agile. Extremely noticeable weight shift and understeer is present at speeds that were easily approachable in a Golf. I know those tyres are not the best, but I never had issue with them even on autocross. MINI feels like SUV in comparison to GTD which was fully stock, so my only hope right now is replacing engine mounts (noticeable vibrations at idle, unpleasant jerks when creeping). Can anyone tell if this would help and which way to go? Should I use GP3 mounts or get the stock with Powerflex inserts, from what I read it is better to swap passenger and bottom mounts, is it true?

I knew that Cooper S is not the best hot hatch, but if all of them drive this way, I’m a bit disappointed.

Other than that issue, I pretty much love this car. It's fun in daily use, was a bit disappointed with LCI OPF exhaust, but other than that everything is great. Cabin feels modern and premium, audio system is great for the class and the overall experience seems very good. For my type of use, JCW would be a better match, but none were available locally at the time and considering the premium, I would most likely go for a different car. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Ughhhhh

I suspect my thermostat is stuck closed which probably means it failed, '13 Coupe S n18 56k.

No heat (lame) got the engine hot message, let it cool down added some coolant nbd, no visible leaks anywhere engine oil is clean and clear.

I don't know

Mini Cooper vs Mini Cooper Convertible in the UAE? Owners, please help!

I’m planning to buy my first premium car in the UAE and I’m torn between a Mini Cooper S Hatch and a Mini Cooper S Convertible (Cabrio).

The convertible has always been my dream, but I’m wondering if it’s actually practical in the UAE.

I’d love to hear from people who own either one:
- Is the convertible worth it, or do you rarely use the roof because of the weather?
- Has the soft top been reliable? Any leaks, wind noise, or maintenance issues?
- Are servicing and repairs significantly more expensive than the hardtop?
- Any common MINI issues I should be aware of?
- How has your ownership experience been in terms of reliability and maintenance costs?
- If you were buying again in the UAE, would you choose the Cooper S Hatch or the Convertible, and why?

Looking for honest experiences - both good and bad. Thanks!
