Daikin Split Inverter

Hello!

If you have time to read this long post and give suggestions I would appreciate it!

The ac is a split inverter. Daikin ctxs07lvju. It does heating and cooling but I only have issues with cooling.

I live in an apartment complex and they have mini splits installed in the living room and both bedrooms. I have had an issue mainly with the master bedroom unit, although I've experienced some noises from the living room one.

I will describe the noise issue here as detailed as possible and if anyone has any clues as to what's causing this I would greatly appreciate because my apartment has not been very helpful and even though they have sent out AC techs they did no do anything to resolve the issue.

This is a new construction apartment that's had a lot of other issues so I wouldn't be surprised if there was an improper installation. I moved in November 2024 and had only used the heat setting until it started getting warmer.

At first the ac didn't have any issues but over time the unit in the bedroom began making periodic buzzing sounds. The sounds will occur after the unit has been running for a period of time. Sometimes a couple of hours and sometimes sooner. It seems like if the indoor temperature is higher at the start, the onset of the buzzing noises begins sooner after turning it on. The buzzing sound is very specific in that it occurs at exact intervals. I cant remember the exact time off the top of my head but I believe it was maybe around 80 seconds. So, every 80 seconds it will make a noise. It will continue to do so until I turn it off and then it will cycle a few more times at the same interval before ceasing. The noise itself isn't extremely loud but it is loud and frequent enough to disrupt sleep.

Last year after many complaints my apartment sent out techs who looked at the units and said the condensation pump was installed incorrectly and then the installed a small rectangular box underneath the unit with a different pump in it. For a brief period of days the noises ceased but then restarted with the same behavior as described above. After this they refused to acknowledge a problem and I couldn't get anyone to come look at it. Over this last winter I only used the heat settings and had no noises during that time.

Now it's getting warmer and I started to use the ac again. At first the noises did not occur for the first few days or week or so of intermittent operation. Then it began again in the same way as before. Now I've had new management in the leasing office of my apartment and I renewed my work order and insisted on it being fixed since it disrupts my sleep. They sent out another tech. I don't know if they were from the same organization but because I didn't have it running long it wasn't making the noises and he denied there being a problem. Which was very frustrating because I have explained over and over these issues I'm having and I'm being completely dismissed.

My leasing office manager is sending out another maintenance man to take a look but I want some opinions because I feel like I'm going crazy trying to get someone to fix this.

What could be causing this noise? It happens only after it has been running for a period of time. It's consistent in the duration between the noises. It's a buzzing sound that sounds from inside the unit, possibly on the right hand side. I've tried looking up some information and I've heard that the condensation pump can sometimes cause a vibration if it's installed too closely to a wall or another part but if the pump is in the box underneath the unit I don't think that's where the sound is coming from. I've also read that the compressor is variable and adjusts itself to the indoor temperature which might explain why the noises occur sooner when it's warmer in the room. I've read that loose bolts and unbalanced fans could be the issue. But I think the fact that it's a consistent duration between buzzes indicates a specific issue or part. Im just unsure what that could be.

If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Im a single mom working two jobs and sleep is already bad as it is, I really need the ac to work so I can sleep better at night!
