First batch KTU student with 7 papers left; any way to complete the degree?
I was part of the first batch of KTU and studied B.Tech, but couldn’t complete the degree. During my final year, I attended 22 papers (4 regular + 18 arrears) and cleared all but 8. I subsequently cleared one more arrear through supplementary exams, leaving 7 papers.
I haven’t appeared for any exams since 2022. I had extended my course through the portal 2–3 times in between, but couldn’t register for or attend the exams. My college also shut down around 2021/22, and I remember changing my exam centre around that time.
I started working immediately after college and had to move to another state. Many others I know in similar situations opted for credit transfers, but I avoided that because I wanted a legitimate route to complete my original degree.
I have a few questions:
Is it still possible to complete my B.Tech through KTU with the 7 remaining papers?
If yes, can I write both odd and even semester arrears in the same exam cycle.
If completing it through KTU is no longer possible, are there any legitimate options to transfer my completed credits to another UGC/AICTE recognised institution or some uni abroad and complete the B.Tech there?
Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with a similar situation, especially first batch students. Thanks in advance.
