Moments that unexpectedly hit you so hard you ended up crying
Aside from the obvious ones like Buffy’s death, Joyce’s death, and the end of Season 6, are there any lesser-talked-about scenes that make you cry every single time?
Three immediately come to mind for me:
Season 2, Episode 17 – Passion: When Buffy comes to save Giles after he tries to kill Angel, and they make it out of the burning building. Giles violently pushes Buffy away for interfering, she punches him in the face, and then they both collapse to the ground sobbing. Thats when I realized just how deep their relationship really is. 😭
Season 3, Episode 10 – Amends: Angel wants to kill himself, and Buffy, so deeply in love with him, desperately tries to stop him. That scene absolutely wrecks me. Sarah Michelle Gellar breaks my heart every single time. I even forget the horrible bang.
Season 3, Episode 20 – The Prom: Buffy crying over her breakup with Angel in Willow’s lap. It’s so simple but heartbreaking. Even with the apocalypse looming, the end of Buffy’s world is losing Angel, and that’s what makes this series so unforgettable across generations.
