Inherited HDB but no longer Singaporean
My dad passed on and I inherited his flat since I was listed a co-owner many years ago. The thing is I live in Australia and I obtained Australian citizenship. My elder brother abandoned the family a long time ago but has come back into the picture after my father passed, looking for inheritance. I don’t want to give him the flat. But I cannot retain it either due having acquired another citizenship. I’m afraid to inform HDB in case they forfeit my ownership. What can I do? I don’t intend to live here. Just want to dispose of the flat.
Edit: Looks like people are suggesting it’s no big deal but still I don’t know how HDB regulations will treat this situation. Are they any agents who have experienced selling a flat like this?
Also should I just sell back directly to HDB (which will be lower than market price) but I’m afraid HDB may not be happy if I profit from the sale since I have taken on Australian citizenship (still have my IC though).
