Help me run easy—I go too hard
I have a problem where I push myself too hard because it’s so fun to be out running after many years off. As a result, I sprained my ankle and am working through a return to run plan. Even in my run blocks, I’m pushing myself to go faster.
I know intellectually that I need to embrace the easy run but it’s really hard for me mentally! How can I reframe it? I’m really motivated to avoid injury and this is a key problem area for me.
