has anyone ever had the fancy cheese crunchies?

has anyone ever had the fancy cheese crunchies?

these were one of my all time favorite snacks but it seems that they discontinued it a few months ago. i’m devastated because i live somewhere with no trader joe’s but was about to move to california and had one in my neighborhood so i was expecting to have access to it whenever i wanted instead of only every few years when i take a trip, but now i will likely never have them again. ive never really seen anyone online talk about them, so i assume they were not very popular, but correct me if im wrong. i don’t know anything really about trader joe’s policy on discontinued products, but is there any chance they’d bring them back or should i give up all hope of having my taste buds blessed by these ever again

Thoughts On Trader Joe's Simpler Times Lager

So I bought a 12-pack of Trader Joe Simpler Times Lager thinking well it's cheap but has to be drinkable right? Boy was I fucking wrong, tastes like Steel Reserve, has a metallic flavor, and honestly may kill my lust for beer and now I am involuntarily sober. I should have bought Miller High Life or Coors Banquet. Honestly Simpler Times lates like shit. Why is this still being sold?

1 can of tj lentils, 1 sweet potato, and leftover spinach means....

I didn't know what to cook for dinner, and I noticed that I had a sweet potato, some spinach, and a can of trader joes lentils..so I decided to make a curry! I had onion, garlic, and ginger, and the curry mix that I typically use, and it turned out great! I didn't have coconut milk, but I did have a tiny can of unsweetened coconut cream..so I mixed it with some water to make coconut milk and mixed it in. Then, a squeeze of lime over top.

This is my first time trying the TJ canned lentils, and they are good! So easy to just dump into a recipe without having to worry about under/over cooking them.

A & H Kosher Beef Hot Dogs Now at Trader Joe's

I decided to celebrate the 4th a day late by making hot dogs (yes, I was lazy and microwaved them) and potato salad. I have not had these hot dogs before, but they are new at Trader Joe's and I decided to try them. They seem like a pretty high quality kosher all beef dog. They have a pretty strong smoked sausage-like flavor that I like, so I'll definitely be adding them to my standard rotation from now on.

Guava spread and Porto’s cheese pastry

A friend ordered us frozen cheese pastries from Porto’s since we aren’t near a physical bakery in Southern California, and they’ve been delightful since we can bake them fresh on demand. Last night, we felt like we unlocked a whole new treat adding Trader Joe’s guava spread! It was absolutely divine. I actually think I favor it over Porto’s guava and cheese pastries. What can’t this guava spread make even better??

trying to find a discontinued mint-chocolate cookie from early 2000s

hi everyone! I'm trying to remember a particular cookie that my step-mom used to bring me from trader joes, probably around 2004/2005 - it came in a clear, plastic container ,and they were mint chocolate cookies. they were definitely not the mint joe-joes, they were much smaller cookies with a fudgey, brownie type of texture. i've tried googling and haven't found anything. does this description happen to ring a bell for anyone?

Editing to add region info: this was in the greater LA area!

Trader Joe's Strawberry Brioche Style Liege Waffles with Trader Joe's French Vanilla Ice Cream

I also added some strawberry syrup for good measure. This was actually even better than I thought it was going to be!

i feel like there’s literally no salt in anything anymore

i love trader joe’s but i don’t know if im crazy or if in the last few years trader joe’s is like. phasing out salt. for most things its fine ill just add my own salt since i mostly get frozen meals but the snacks have so little salt. i swear the blue corn chips i just opened are entirely unsalted. they need at least a little bit to taste like anything. i wish there were just some low sodium options and some regular sodium options

(i know most people in the usa especially need less sodium and im coming from the point of view of someone who needs a doctor recommended 8000mg of sodium but still my point stands)

Meal Idea: Hardwood Smoked Pulled Pork ($8.99) & Organic Coleslaw Mix ($2.49)

Images shown: 1. Plate with Hardwood Smoked Pulled Pork (BBQ sauce added) & Organic Coleslaw Mix (made into coleslaw, 2. Bag of coleslaw mix & box of pulled pork.

This was delicious. I added a little Sweet Baby Ray's Vidalia Onion BBQ sauce to the pork (after heating), and I added white vinegar plus mayo to the coleslaw mix. It would have also been great as a sandwich or a wrap, or in a street taco style. I got 4 servings out of these two things, at $2.45 per serving (plus the cost of the condiments I already had).

Garlic butter Irish potato chips

My fiance and I are on the way home from our traders joes trip (we’re like an hour away from one) and he picked out these Irish chips. We opened them in the car and at a certain point he’s like “take them away from me” lol. Sorry I don’t have a better pic, thought this one would be funnier

Gift to bring back for international family?

I’m going back to visit my partner’s family (in France, they’re all French) in about a week, and was wondering if they may enjoy some of the products from here? Mainly because TJ’s has such unique flavors, haha. It can be fun to look through and try new things even as someone who has always had a trader Joe’s in their town. But I’m a little apprehensive that it’s not too "cheap" looking or tasting, because their family eats quite natural, healthy overall, and has a skilled chef in the household. I was thinking of possibly the lemon or brown butter biscotti, the strawberry or lemon baton wafer cookies, and or apricot shortbread cookies? But wanted to ask if anyone has better reccomendations. Thanks!

trader joe’s passion fruit sorbet!

easily one of the best tj’s products out there — full stop.

it’s soooooo sour! it’s like eating passion fruit sour patch kid sorbet! it’s amazing. 100000/10, zero complaints.

if you have the chance to try it, don’t pass it up. i usually stock up when i get it because it’s so good.

Cornbread surprised me, it’s so freaking good!

I realize I’m late to this but I was craving cornbread the other day. Jiffy has always been my go-to but I happened to be at TJ’s and saw this one. Saving myself another stop, I decided to give this a try.

Man, it is way better than Jiffy. And way way better than Bob’s Red Mill (dry).
