Chicago A la Carte

Hi everyone . . Rejoined Reddit bc I missed participating in this community. And because I'm heading to Chicago for the first time and I'm trying to figure out what my last reservation of the weekend will be.

When I travel I like to go to a 2- or 3-star restaurant, a steakhouse and then an a la carte local favorite. That said, I'm all set with Oriole and Bavette's and so now I'm looking for a more casual, chef-driven, a la carte option. Bonus points for a nice dining room.

Some of my favorites over the years have been Le Pigeon (Portland, OR), Alter (Miami), Rose's Luxury (DC) and Central Provisions (Portland, ME).

So, where should I go in Chicago? (I'll be staying downtown btw).

Thanks for your help!
