Hello everyone, I recently bought a B.C. Rich Mockingbird Masterpiece and a Woodstock GX-55R, and I'm looking to get that high distortion you hear from 'nu metal' bands like Linkin Park, Slipknot and Deftones, but I can't quite achieve it properly.

When I click channel switch from clean to overdrive, nothing really changes with the output, it just sounds the same.

I've tried cleaning the foot pedal plug at the back incase that was dirty and causing something, but it didn't seem to help.

I also don't FANCY buying a pedal if I don't have to.
