Anyone in Greenville into homelabs or home networking?

I’m an IT student and veteran here in Greenville working on CCNA and Security+. I’m trying to connect with people in the area who are into homelabs, home networking, or IT in general.

Curious what setups people around here are running and how you got started.

Building a Homelab for CCNA/CCNP — Looking for Old Networking Gear (Greenville, NC)

Studying for CCNA/CCNP and expanding my homelab. If anyone has older switches, routers, firewalls, or other networking gear they’re retiring, I’d be grateful to put it to use.

Veteran, IT student, based in Greenville, NC — can pick up locally.
Thanks to anyone willing to help.

[W] Veteran IT Student Building a Homelab — Looking for Old Networking/Security Gear (Greenville, NC)

Hey everyone, I’m currently working on my CCNA/CCNP and CompTIA Security+/Network+ and I’m expanding my homelab to get more hands‑on experience. I’m a veteran and an IT student in Greenville, NC, and I’m looking for any older or decommissioned networking/security gear you might be retiring.

I can put to use things like:
• Switches (Cisco, HP, Dell, etc.)
• Routers & firewalls
• Patch panels & cabling
• Server racks/shelves
• Access points
• IDS/IPS or UTM appliances
• Small servers or SFF systems
• UPS units / PDUs
• Any other infrastructure hardware you’re clearing out

If you’re upgrading equipment or cleaning out storage, I’d be grateful to give it a second life in my lab. I can pick up locally in Greenville or surrounding areas.

Thanks to anyone willing to help — it genuinely makes a difference.
