Thought on back day routine
- I always start every workout with a quarter mile jog on the treadmill to warm muscles up.
-Every exercise is to failure or 1-2 RIR.
- I try to lift a heavy enough weight that I’m failing around 5-7 reps
I am getting back into weightlifting but have some idea of how it is.
-Pullups, 4 sets til failure
-deadlift 4 sets 5-7 reps
- cable rows (2 sets of cable rows where I’m pulling to chest for upper mid back and 2 sets of cable rows where I’m pulling to waist for lower mid back)
- shrugs 3 sets til failure (I use dumbbells but am thinking I should use a barbell for better activation)
- preacher curls 3 sets til 1-2 rir
If you have any thoughts on this or exercises where you really feel the burn or feel are highly effective let me know. I don’t really feel much when I deadlift or do shrugs because I think I’m hindering by my wrists, forearm grip. My hands end up hurting halfway through sets.
