HVAC Failure, Drivetrain Warning & Loud Cooling Fan (Cupra Tavascan UK) – Looking for Advice

Hi everyone,

Looking for some troubleshooting advice on my UK Cupra Tavascan. My HVAC / ventilation has completely stopped working (zero air movement unless I open the windows), and I’ve now also got a yellow drivetrain warning light on the dash.

Crucially, the car is NOT in limp mode and drives completely fine otherwise—it's just the annoying yellow light, no cabin air, and the thermal management after locking the car going into overdrive.

Troubleshooting steps already taken:

  • Infotainment: Performed multiple resets.
  • Fuse Box (Passenger Glove Box): Pulled, checked and reseated:
    • Fuse 11 (7.5A – Air conditioning relay)
    • Fuse 25 (15A – High-voltage heating PTC / HV battery heating / Cooling pump)
    • Fuse 34 (15A – Heating and air-conditioning control unit)
  • HV Disconnect: Pulled the high-voltage manual disconnection point (yellow label), which solved a similar glitch on my old VW ID.4, but made no difference on the Tavascan.

Current Symptoms:

  1. Complete failure of the ventilation system / fan.
  2. Yellow drivetrain warning light (car drives normally, no loss of power).
  3. When locked and turned off, the cooling fan runs abnormally loud for 15–20 minutes before finally shutting down.

Next Steps & Dealer Availability: The 2 Local dealers can’t see the car until Wednesday October 21st 2026.

Before I try disconnecting the 12V battery to force a full power cycle, has anyone had these combination of errors or found a workaround? Thanks!
