SadMad - 20 year age gap ex
My (27) ex-fiance (48) is dating a student (25).
I met him when I was 17 in college, he was 38 (not a professor, but close enoug). After I turned 18 he started paying me more attention, liking my instagram posts, telling me how mature I was for my age. The age gap cliche sums up our 7 year relationship. Love bombing, jealousy, isolation, manipulation - you name it. I broke things off with him after a VERY bad fight and moved back home with no contact for almost 3 years.
Well out of curiosity I went and looked on his instagram account, dug around, and found out he is dating another student (25) that was under his mentorship in college. He's now 47.
I shouldn't care right? But I do because of her age. It's the reality hitting me that I wasn't actually a precious gem, young, beautiful, and mature enough that he gave me permission to be with him. It's just what he does. Manipulates young girls.
I'm sad for my younger self and for her.
