I would like to offer my apologies to the player who died by my friendly fire at Landing Zone Foxtrot 3 on the Africa server today.

To give you some context, a player who was previously team-killed by you and had all of their gear stripped and looted placed a 20K bounty on your head. I was simply acting as a bounty hunter and carrying out the contract. Please understand that there was nothing personal behind my actions.

I hope you understand. Best of all

We all know cheaters exist in every game. That’s a fact of life. Gray Zone Warfare has been struggling with this since day one, but something has fundamentally changed.

It used to be that cheaters at least tried to hide. They didn't want to get caught. Now? It’s turned into a "who has the more expensive cheat" competition.

Some people keep saying, "Relax, it’s Early Access, it’s not the full game yet." I completely disagree. After the 0.4 update, the devs claimed they implemented anti-cheat measures. They even kept the patch notes secret, supposedly to "keep cheaters in the dark." Well, look at the result: it only bred more cheaters.

Watching cheaters fight each other is like watching a Marvel movie. They move at light speed, shoot through solid walls, and transport helis have basically become gunships. I'm not playing this game right now just to wait for some magical 1.0 release in the future. I am playing version 0.4 today, and at this rate, I’ll have GZW uninstalled long before 0.5 even hits

I’ve voiced my concerns on the official Discord and reported every single cheater I encountered, complete with video evidence. If you saw my archive of clips, you wouldn't even want to touch GZW PvP. But out of all those reports, how many actually got banned? Even when they do, it’s not a hardware ID ban. They just hop back in with a hacked account bought for a few bucks.

Whenever I bring this up, I get shut down. People just say, "Just go play PvE then."

Is PvE even safe? No. They move three times faster than a full sprint and bypass every locked door in the game. AI bots are irrelevant because they can’t track someone moving that fast. The cheaters just run, vacuum up the loot, and log out. By the time a legitimate player fights through the AI and burns all their ammo to reach a high-tier crate, it’s already empty.

There is a simple solution to this: Region Locking.

Force players to match within their own regions. Sure, some will try to bypass it with a VPN, but it would still be a massive improvement over the current state. Just create a "Battleworld" for them and let them have their own Secret Wars.

Stop forcing us to play with people who treat cheats like they’re just another piece of DLC.
