We have deployed Patch 0.4.3.0 to the live servers. If the update does not appear automatically, please restart Steam to trigger the download.

Overview

Patch 0.4.3.0 introduces Long-Term Contracts (LTCs for short) as a new activity for players. LTCs are extensive assignments that require players to search for specific items, investigate remote locations, or eliminate targets across regions. They are unlocked by discovering new world regions and are displayed in a separate panel on the map, unlike other task types.

We are also making improvements to the tactical map itself. Regions are now clearly highlighted with a border when hovered over. The improved region widget shows more details, such as the most common enemy type and how much of the region has already been explored.

The patch also includes various fixes, for example, improving handguard durability for the Mossberg M590 and several fixes related to mounting and using magnifiers.

  • Fixed an issue where the Type 51 was misaligned in AI NPC hands during a stun animation
  • Fixed an issue where the left hand was placed incorrectly during the weapon check animation for the SA Vz. 58
  • Fixed an issue where changing the fire mode on the M14 while aiming down sights caused the rifle to move erratically
  • Fixed an issue where players could briefly appear to be floating in the air during the jump animation

  • Fixed an issue where the mysterious ambient sounds in Ban Pa played constantly at night

  • Fixed an issue where the noise-canceling effect of the construction earmuffs persisted after the earmuffs were lost due to disconnection
  • Fixed an issue where the tinnitus effect could be removed by equipping headphones
  • Fixed an issue where landing sounds were not played after falls from small and medium heights

Gameplay

  • Fixed an issue where AI NPCs respawned at COPs despite players being in range
  • Fixed an issue where soft point ammo could not penetrate wire mesh gates
  • Fixed an issue where switching to a grenade while changing stances could fail, causing the equipped weapon to become invisible
  • Fixed an issue where players might appear invincible to other players
  • Fixed an issue where the player's hitbox could get misaligned during character rotation or sprinting
  • Fixed an issue where players could get pushed underground if they were lying prone on a helicopter landing zone when a helicopter landed
  • Fixed an issue where the Rangefinder scope displayed multiple distance values simultaneously when targeting objects at different ranges

Tasks and Tutorial

  • Added new task type: long-term contracts (48 in total)
  • Fixed an issue where the healing tutorial prompt failed to update if players opened the settings menu
  • Fixed an issue where the task “Echoes of Exposure” provided players with unnecessary sample kits
  • Adjusted the logic for repeating tasks to prioritize tasks completed the least often
  • Added region information to task overview descriptions
  • Removed an obsolete reputation loss warning icon from tasks that cannot be failed

User Interface

  • Fixed an issue where the options icon was pushed outside of the visible screen area in specific languages
  • Fixed an issue where medical items in the quick action menu were not sorted by importance if a splint was included
  • Fixed an issue where player visibility was incorrectly reported in the UI while standing within specific biomes
  • Fixed an issue where dragging items from the locker did not highlight equipped containers and displayed the message "No space to add item"
  • Fixed an issue where the death screen showed incorrect text after a fall death
  • Fixed an issue where players could get stuck on an infinite loading screen after comparing stats with another player if the statistics screen was closed
  • Fixed an issue where the statistics menu overlapped the character menu screen under specific circumstances
  • Fixed an issue where the “new vendor available” notification appeared outside safe areas where vendor interaction is unavailable
  • Fixed an issue where players could not unblock blocked friends after adding them as Steam friends
  • Fixed an issue where the player marker could be covered by the area info widget when fully zoomed out on the map
  • Fixed an issue where task icons on the map could not be clicked if they overlapped with a location name

Visual and Rendering

  • Fixed an issue where the TSR upscaling method was incorrectly selected while running the game for the first time in 4K resolution
  • Fixed an issue where the Vudu 3.5-18x and Razor 1-6x scopes could render the crosshairs in an incorrect position outside the character model when viewed from a third-person view (3PV)
  • Fixed an issue where an empty bullet casing appeared on the screen after shooting and switching weapons
  • Fixed an issue where infrared (IR) lasers and flashlights were visible on distant vegetation without night-vision goggles
  • Fixed an issue where some resolutions on the secondary monitor could not be used

Weapons and weapon parts

  • Fixed an issue where collimator mounts could not be attached to the Unity Optic Raiser
  • Fixed an issue where the reticle on the FDE Acog variant completely disappeared when switching reticles
  • Fixed an issue where Mossberg handguards broke completely after a single shot
  • Fixed an issue where attaching a mount and a magnifier separately could bypass weapon part compatibility checks
  • Fixed an issue where magnifiers attached to high mounts could be connected to low-mounted collimators, causing the collimator to malfunction
  • Fixed an issue where the camera position was too far back when using magnifiers

World

  • Fixed an issue where water in YBL-1 West sometimes did not drain properly and remained visible
  • Fixed an issue where players could vault through a glass door in UNLRA Headquarters in Tiger Bay
  • Fixed an incorrect collision on a staircase at a wooden house in Ban Suk (159, 125)
  • Fixed an area between a boat and a rock at Old Pier where players could get stuck (206, 137)
  • Fixed an issue where some loot spawns in the Midnight Sapphire Hotel could not be looted
  • Fixed an invisible collision on a road in the starter towns
  • Fixed an invisible collision at a house near the doctor's office in the starter towns
  • Fixed an issue where an incorrect corpse model was placed in the Radio Station
  • Enemy faction starter regions are now hidden on the map

  • Fixed an issue where players could remain in the same squad after one of them wiped their character and changed faction while the other was loading into a server
  • Fixed an issue where multiple actions from different control categories could be bound to a single key
  • Fixed an issue where the Motel Owner's diary asset did not display the actual password
  • Fixed an issue where spamming the spectator key could result in disconnection from the server
  • Fixed an issue where the main menu character did not reflect gear changes in real time after abandoning a session

Server Maintenance

The release will require SERVER DOWNTIME from 7:00 AM EDT / 1:00 PM CEST to 08:00 AM EDT / 2:00 PM CEST.

Starting at 6:30 EDT / 12:30 PM CEST, the shutdown process will begin, and servers will no longer be joinable for new players.

GZW is the best military shooter if for nothing other than the graphics and representation of the firearms.

I haven't played anything more immersive, all told.

All the other popular games are stylized in a weird way, weird jank or sound design, but GZW just does something to my brain. It acts as functional gun porn for me, where almost no other game has.

The game isn't without faults or things I wish they'd change but goddamn is it beautiful and the guns are such a huge standout.

Need help losing weight (gear weight)

I am prepping to go to Tiger Bay for Handshake UNLRA tasking, I only had Juliett 3 unlocked and I finished step 1 at the UNLRA checkpoint at the South, after which I went back to base to gear up.
I tried to keep it under 30kg but I couldn't because it would mean dropping to lvl 3 armour, even 3+ still got me to over 30kg.
How can i shave off weights? I got both Handshake, Gunny, Labrat and Turncoat to level 3. The other 2 are level 2.

Got stuck taking stairs to the villas (Midnight Sapphire)

Just casually walked on the stairs, got stuck. Jumping without backpack somehow got me out of there after a while. Was not able to recreate the issue though. Only happened once as seen in the footage.

New player

I have recently purchased this game and wondered if anyone could help. Every time I boot the game, my GPU fans ramps up and the RPM stays pretty high throughout the session. Temp of the GPU is between 50-77.

I have a AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT (12 GB).

Does anyone have this issue? or can help?

I hope this game allows more freedom when it comes to weapon attachment customization.  

I’m not a native English speaker, so I’m using AI to help translate this.

I’m a new player who started in version 0.4, and this game is pretty niche in my region. So I often come here to see what everyone is talking about.

I believe many players are already aware of this issue, but I rarely see people bring it up.

The attachment system in this game feels way too restrictive, and I really hope the developers improve it someday.

For example, the MP7 can’t equip any LPVOs. Also, once you install certain optics, you can’t use the rear iron sight anymore. Foregrips can only be attached in very specific positions, and front sights often conflict with lasers or flashlights.

I’m also a real-life firearm enthusiast. This game has an excellent weapon customization system, and being able to fully build a gun from scratch in-game is genuinely exciting. But the lack of freedom with attachments completely ruins part of that experience for me.

Here’s a photo of my own MP7 as an example. I normally wouldn’t put an LPVO on an MP7 in real life, but being able to do something like that in-game? That would be awesome.

What do you guys think?

Is PVP just hostile to new players?

Fairly new to this game, and i just scored my first kill on an enemy player, but considering how it went it was just very unsatisfying.

I got lit up as soon as i dismounted from the helicopter, so i ended up just crawling through the vegetation while healing the one minor wound the enemy managed to land on me. Eventually mortars start to to carpet bomb the are around me, and i counted 5 of them went off before it stopped. Eventually the guy ran close enough and a short firefight happened which i managed to win. I proceeded to take his loose bullets and a water bottle (i know tracking tags are a thing, so i didnt dare to loot actual equipment). 3 more mortars land after i left the area of his body. I then decide to go through the jungle, but somehow i get tracked down and proceed to lose the next firefight.

Now is this just how pvp goes in general or is this more like an isolated incident? I dont really have enough funds to get a decent kit anymore, while it seems like everyone i fight has infinte resources at their disposal, so even when i win, i lose. This interaction was just the cherry on top of the proverbial cake. Im mostly asking because this has left enough of a bad taste on my mouth where im considering just not playing the game anymore. I know PvE exists, but im not interested in that as much as pvp (atleast one that doesnt feel as bullshit as what happened).

Does Loose Loot Have Any Other Purpose Beyond Money?

So, as far as I can see, the only thing loose loot like repellant, watches, ID cards, etc. is for is selling. And maybe the very rare couple of task asking for a specific item (and the three tasks of those I’ve seen have been for items I have not yet found).

I assume it’s because the game is still in pre-alpha, but since there’s no crafting, bartering, or anything similar, should I just be caring about value-per-slot and that’s it?

Flashlight cone sometimes does not load at all or takes a while

As you can see in the video I stare at this "no texture found" wall in the dark sometimes. Could be hardware, could be the game. Saw that happening to others as well. Please adress texture loading times while pushing forward to darker nights. THX

End game build

I'm playing GZW since 0.1 and this update was the best one since. Everybody know there is still a lot of issues but we also know that MFG is not not gonna let us down in next updates. I hit the celling of loot and gear in that game, of course I don't have all the keys, and I didn't finished all the missions yet, but weapons, gear and money, I have nothing else to discover. All my vendors are lvl 4 (fck u turncoat lvl3.5). After 590h in game I want to show u guys my favorite loadout.
