Belly: I thought that we loved each other!
Conrad: We did.
This scene always made me pause, because Conrad gulps and looks away when he says “We did.” Only recently I read how Jenny intended it to be; this is when Belly gives up on Conrad completely, you see the light dim in her eyes. She wanted him to say “We do” in the present tense, but Conrad confirmed that he’s done for good when he uttered the word “did”, sealing his fate for the next 5 years.

🎬 Belly Finds Out
Jeremiah’s reaction when Belly reminds him that she’d only ever been with one other person. I thought the disdain and scornful look on his face was because her first time was with his brother, but now I see that his mind went to Belly & Conrad’s Christmas 2.0, which she hid from him. These are the doubts and fears materializing right before us, he thinks they were intimate, that’s why she never told him about seeing Conrad there, and Belly is clueless.
