Classical Adaptations
I was playing Lies of P again recently and I thought, what other pieces of classic literature would lend themselves to a Soulslike adaptation? My thoughts...
The Picture of Dorian Gray: death/rebirth tied to your painting which changed based on kills, deaths, moral or amoral choices leading to a final boss fight with the twisted reflection of the choices you made in the game.
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein: You play as the monster, your bonfires are lightning rods or something that bring you back. Enemies could be a mixture of angry pitchfork wielding townspeople or shambling undead/failed experiments left by the main antagonist, Victor Frankenstein.
Wizard of Oz/Alice in Wonderland would also be good contenders.
Thoughts?
