Just purchased a house in Huntington NY. We need our amperage upgraded and recieved a quote from an electrical business for $8500. Our house is 1800 sq feet. 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathrooms, a living room den, kitchen and dining room. I will include some stuff in the quote below.

Grounding system upgrades as required by code, if found
necessary based on existing components.Surge protection to be
installed, required by code of as 2026.
Main circuit labeling for easy identification
Important Notes:
This service covers distribution of existing circuits only. It does
not include interior wiring modifications, correction of
overloaded circuits, or replacement of faulty wiring.
Aluminum wiring considerations: Aluminum wiring expands and
contracts significantly, which can cause loose connections,
flickering lights, intermittent power issues, and overheating
devices. If these conditions are present, Universe will diagnose
issues at $295 per hour and provide solutions at an additional
cost.
Inspection & Certification: Inspection and UL certificate are
included with service upgrades only. Inspection cost: $250.00
Customer Responsibilities & Notes:
If the electrical panel is located within a finished wall, Universe
will take care to minimize sheetrock damage. However, the
customer assumes responsibility for any spackle and paint
repairs.Warranty:1-Year Warranty on parts and labor5-Year Warranty
against water entering the serviceWarranty is void if any other
contractor or electrician works on electrical equipment installed
by Universe.To maintain the warranty, all service adjustments or
