Resident of Suffolk, work in Nassau, no shelters available for my circumstances, the DSS won't help because I am currently working. No friends or family to stay with and no history of substance abuse, believe it or not. Gimme your best advice because I don't want to live like this.

EDIT: I work 30hrs a week minimum wage, and I have a friend willing to help me set up a PO box.

Anyone know what virus is going around in Nassau that causes a small-ish raised rash along with brutal respiratory symptoms, body aches, and fever?

My elderly disabled neighbor had a Rottweiler that is constantly getting loose, recently happened 5 minutes ago, when he ran across the street after my small beagle!
The other day while coming around the corner from a bike ride, this huge dog ran in front of my son growling, he is now scared to go on our even bike rides!
The daughter came outside and all she did was call the dog and then she ran back inside! They obviously cannot control this dog.

What should I do? This is a daily occurrence, last week this lady was running, the dog started barking so she turned around so this effecting so many people.

Any advice is appreciated

Anyone else have recent experience with KQ, specifically with warranty work or replacement windows?

I’m curious if what I’ve been dealing with is isolated or if others have had similar issues.

I originally had a couple of windows that developed leaks that were determined to be related to an issue with the windows themselves. KQ replaced them under warranty, and the first installation experience was actually very good. Unfortunately, the replacement windows ended up leaking again, and in my case the leaks were worse than the originals.

When they came back out, there was some discussion about whether the problem could be related to my roof or siding. I haven’t had any roof issues, and KQ also installed the siding on the house, so that explanation didn’t really make sense to me based on what I’ve experienced.

We then started the process of getting another set of replacement windows. During that process, I learned that the original window design was no longer available and that they were working with a different manufacturer/design for the replacement.

That’s where my frustration really comes in. I completely understand that warranty replacements and manufacturing delays can take time. A few months wouldn’t surprise me. But I’ve now been waiting close to a year, with the explanation being that the manufacturer is holding things up, and I still don’t have the replacement windows.

At this point I’m mostly trying to figure out whether anyone else has recently dealt with KQ warranty claims or similar delays. How long did your replacement take, and did they ultimately resolve the issue?

Anybody commute regularly (4+ days a week) to NYC from Patchogue or Port Jefferson station? Wondering what your life is like as I’m entertaining going to the city for more money (50% to 60% overall raise). Do you have kids? How flexible is your employer? Also, please confirm you don’t pay any NYC taxes.

Hi all! I recently moved back home after graduating college and my mom has been begging me to get rid of my old high school standardized testing prep books LOL, I live close to Shelter Rock PL but from what I’ve seen online, a lot of libraries in the area don’t really accept prep books. Does anyone know of any organization or school I can donate them to instead?

Friends of mine were quoted $6 gallon for home heating oil. This translates to a $1200 PER MONTH oil bill for a 200 gallon oil tank for the months of October - April. I think we would all be interested in to hear about what prices you have been quoted and from which companies? Thanks in advance.
