Sizing help

Recently I tried on a pair of shoes in us 4.5 and it felt super comfortable out the box. My toes were curled but didn't feel squished, my heel fit perfectly and also I could flex my forefoot easily to smear.

When I tried on the us 4, nothing fit well. The shoes heel was too narrow and my heel couldn't sink in and feel the bottom, i couldn't flex my forefoot to smear and the toe felt a tiny bit cramped.

Should I get the 4 or the 4.5? I'm worried the 4.5 will stretch out to be too big and the 4 will stretch to be just nice.

They are the Madrock Shark 2.0 and I believe they are fully synthetic

Madrock Shark 2.0 Sizing Help

Recently I went to a store to try out the Drone CS HV and the Shark 2.0.

These two, the Drone 2.0 (both HV and LV) and the Drone CS LV were in stock.

Context: my street size is EU 37 US 5 and I have wide forefoot and an average to narrow volume and shallow heel

I tried on the Drone CS HV in the US 5 but there is a bit of space underneath the heels and when I tried to smear my heel will lift off the sole. Now idk if it was because the shoe heel was too narrow (I wanted to try the 5.5 but there wasn't any available) or it just doesn't fit me. The toebox felt nice so I didn't bother trying the LV. If anyone has any advice for this part it would be helpful as well.

I tried on the Shark 2.0 in US 4.5 and absolutely loved the fit. The heel is super nice and actually feels filled out and secure, the toebox felt very comfortable and when I tried smearing by just standing on my forefoot it was very flexible and my heel actually stayed in place.(I've had issues in the past where the heel was too big and insecure and when I tried to smear the heel would start lifting off the sole and the Achilles would start hurting)

Now here's the important part:

I tried on the Shark 2.0 in the US 4 and they didn't fit as well (there was empty space left underneath the heel cause my heel was too wide and couldn't sink in. The toebox felt a tiny bit cramped as well. Additionally, I couldn't smear properly cause I couldn't flex my forefoot.

Now I'm wondering

  1. How much will the shoes stretch.

  2. Should I get the US 4.5 or the US 4 (I'm worried if I get the 4.5 they might stretch out and the fit won't be as good. I'm also thinking the 4.0 will stretch to become like the 4.5)

Hi I've been climbing since October 2025 and bought my first pair of shoes (ls Kubo womens) in January 2026. Now that they are worn out ( I know I do alot of toe dragging and I gotta work on that ) I want to get a new pair.

I have a Asian foot shape and it's fan shaped (my toebox is wide but my heel is narrow like a v shape) I liked the toebox of the Kubos but the heel was too baggy and deep. I'm looking for some recommendations to try.

I'd like to have a comfortable shoe that I don't have to take off after every climb but also one that performs better than the kubos. Durability is a small factor as well but not has important as performance and comfort. I only board climb (kilter like 99% of the time) and boulder indoors so I would like to go for a soft shoe.

Shoes im gonna try: (would appreciate comments on these)

Tenaya indalo and oasi LV

Evolv zenist pro lv

Grade I climb at if it matters: 7a+ - 7b (v7-v8) on kilter
