Hiring a new worship leader

Hey guys,

Just curious if you have experience hiring a new worship leader and what your process looked like as far as making sure they were fit for the job. Did you do an audition? What kind of questions did you ask?

Thanks!

Looking to hire a paid drummer & curious about pay.

Hello,

We are quickly moving from a Large church to a very large church, about 1k attendance but still struggling to maintain a full band. So I’d like to at least secure a paid position for a drummer because I see that position as absolutely essential for our worship style every weekend.

Any idea what would be appropriate pay for this role?

Any thoughts on how I can be thinking bigger / better in this circumstance?

We have always been a volunteer run church but lately our production level has become much bigger than what our people can handle without a certain level of professionalism and experience.

I am planning on having to hire vital positions in A/V and worship before this thing becomes way to big to handle.

Resources and advice would be helpful.

Thanks!

Vocal Training Resources

Hello,

I have someone on my team who wants to lead songs but I just can’t seem to get her to lead with a commanding presence, she is much to melancholy. How do I get her to find the power in her vocal performance? She doesn’t seem to understand when I try and tell her to sing out. I’ve worked with her on vocal exercises and tried to find the right key for her to push her vocals a bit but it all just seems so nonchalant and uninspiring.

Help? lol

Pastor with Depression/ anxiety

I’ve been in process of becoming a pastor for the last 4 years at my church. I’ve slowed down my onboarding process in order to deal with my mental health and just can’t seem to get past this cycle of depression and anxiety. I’ve received some diagnosis from a secular doctor for Major Depressive Disorder (as well as general anxiety disorder and PTSD) and also receive counsel from the pastors around me. There are days I want to give up and quit because it just seems like I’ll never get to a place where I’m comfortable leading others. I love Jesus and love what I do, but how can I shepherd a flock when I still have thoughts of doom and gloom, it occasionally even crosses my mind to end my life. I really need a breakthrough. Should I take a break for a while in order to address this or do I keep going and pray the Lord works it out in the process of growth as a leader? Just getting these thoughts out there.
