For me Hymns in Dissonance has become my favourite Whitechapel release by some margin. I know nostalgia plays a massive part in why we love music but every now and again a band releases something so good it takes the top spot!

What riffs are really scratching that itch at the moment?

For me it's this offering of riffage "Paradise Lost - Ascension" 🤘🏼

Obviously this is massively subjective and if you think something is a 10 then to you it absolutely is. This is the last album (Deafheaven - Lonely People with Power) that earned that from me. Always get some great albums mentioned on here so looking forward to seeing what you guys say.

I found the latest Lorna Shore record (I Feel the Everblack Festering Within Me) to be a crushing and beautiful piece of art that made me feel a wide range of emotion. The aggression on show alongside some soaring guitar and instrumentals. Obviously beauty is in the "ear" of the beholder but I love hearing when music has made someone have an emotional response.

I go through different phases with music (as many do) but metal is "home" for me. That being said sometimes I find myself in need of a musical pick me up to feel that excitement for the genre again.

This record (The Acacia Strain - Your Safe from God Here) was the latest example of that for me. It resonated with me and reminded me of all the things I love about metal and extreme music. I've been on a metal only musical diet since this album's release! 🤘🏼

I was very excited when Orthodox dropped A Door Left Open, but wow! This has become one of my all time favourites!
