Question for narrow foot supporting cup
Hi so i went in with the intention of making a dainty teacup with a flared foot so i left the base thick to be able to trim a deep and more narrow foot
Im curious if theres any limits to how much I can trim into the foot before I risk the piece being top heavy and collapsing
Or any tips on drying like keeping it upside down and not setting it on its base until it’s fired??
(I only know about not using a handle until after glaze because of this group)
I will wait til leather hard just wanted to map it out when going in for the trim as I often forget my intended shape the second that wheel starts spinning
Tips on how to make a foot like this are also welcome!! When throwing or trimming I’m new to shaping and feet.
Either my piece is uneven or my pic is a bad angle.
And know when I wired off the bat some of that bottom is gone. This is more for an idea to work towards than exact
