Today is my oldest's 3rd birthday party. I invited lots of friends and family starting last month. This morning, as I'm getting everything ready for his lunch time party, the messages start rolling. Over half of the guests have canceled. All with reasonable sounding excuses.

I should have known no one would come. Only 2 came to my first pregnancy baby shower, one was the host. Ive tried to host friendsgivings with people saying they would come, that they were excited/looking forward to it. Only to have no one show up day of.

I think I'm done with parties and gatherings. At least until the kids are older. I'm trying to not take it so seriously, so personally. But it hurts and makes me mad.
