Route to Landmannalaugar in August

Route to Landmannalaugar in August

I know that Google Maps is not very reliable when it comes to Iceland, so I thought maybe someone here could help. Our plan is to drive to Haifoss / Grannifoss (from "nearby" accommodations), then to Sigoldugljufur / Sigoldufoss, and then down to Landmannalaugar, and then take the F225 / F26 down to Hella / Hvolsvöllur to get to our hotel for the night. According to Google Maps (image attached), the only way to get from Sigoldugljufur / Sigoldufoss to Landmannalaugar is by backtracking and going south after. Is the F208 not a good option to (straight down)? I feel like that may be quicker, unless the roads are that much more difficult that route.

Also, does this sound manageable for one day (assuming weather is good -- we would skip everything past Haifoss if it's heavy rain)?

I really want to see the Rhyolite Mountains in August, but I don’t want to go on an 11-hour tour that includes long hikes and hot springs. Is there a short half day tour of that area? Everything I see online seems to be full days.

I’m considering driving there from Hella for a half day visit (apparently an easier drive from that side). Is it worth it? We were planning to tag Haifoss to Golden Circle Day, but maybe for the sake of simplicity, we should have a full day dedicated to Gjain, Haifoss and the Rhyolite Mountains?

Pardon my lack of proper terminology.

We bought a new Bambino Plus and DF64 grinder a couple of months ago. For the first month everything worked well. We cleaned the grinder not too long ago but haven’t needed to clean the Bambino Plus yet.

Recently the Bambino has been choking when we try to run it. It will choke and stop a few times before finally pouring a shot (we have to press the button each time until it actually pours). The crema has also been worse since this problem started.

We’re trying to clean the Bambino now (it’s leaking around the drip tray) and we’re wondering if there could be something else wrong with the machine.

Thoughts?

UPDATED: So sorry, I forgot to mention that we were running empty shots to try to troubleshoot or remove air in lines and it was still choking. So not likely a puck issue. My husband managed to get the cleaning cycle completed and was able to get one normal run afterwards.
