Im currently admitted for biochem and waiting on finance, how hard would it be to switch after my first year if I don’t get in? And what courses should I take to make that switch easier?

I wanted to change my first choice from biochem to finance, and they said they’d get back to me to do a program priority switch. Does anybody have experience doing this? And if I do get accepted late how badly would that affect my course selection?
