Glue for rhinestoning a dance costume

Hello! I will be putting rhinestones for the first time on my daughters ' s dances costumes. Usualy it was done at our studio and they use E6000.

Now I knew that glue was toxic the moment I smelled it.

Would Gem Tac be a good choice if I want to do it inside my home?

At least 2 of the costumes will be subject to roll around on the floor ( contemporary numbers) so they need to stay on. I wash all the costumes by hand.

Should I use something else? All advice is welcomed!

Thank you :)

Competition make up

Hello, I need help , tips, anything!

I don't wear makeup personaly (only some mascara once or twice a year) so competition make up scares me, even though I just went through a first year of comps with my 11 years old. But she learned how to do her makeup by herself! But now year 2 her younger sister (8) is starting also, and I will need to do the make up.

How do you get fake lashes on an 8 years old with a little tiny face? 😬

She hates having mascara or eye liner put on her, she tries to do it herself but she need practice... so how do you handle this with younger ones.

What are your supermoves to make this work? Also any lash recomemdations (we need wispies for all dancers).also maybe worth noting, she ( and I ) has ADHD, so extremely sensitive to any texture, feelings and gets overwhelmed very easily.

Tips for home practice for 8 years old?

Hello, my youngest started tap last year, she just got picked for her school's competitive team. She has classes once a week, but she always wants to practice at home.

What can we do so that we don't ruin our floors and not annoy everybody in the house?

Any youtube channel that I could put on so that she can do the basic moves (she is still learning the terms)?

And anything I can do or look for to help her get better since I don't know much about tap?

Advice needed for 11 years old girl

My daughter as ADD (like me) she is in competitive dance. Really found her passion, she is really good, has a great work ethic and is well liked by teachers and her peers (when dancing, she has a hard time making frineds outside of her group even though they try to include her). We found a really good school with good values ( very very important in this sport) she is well supported by all her teachers and other parents (family vibes).

But she gets into her head so much. She as RSD like me and is always affraid to be judged if she messes a move , in auditions she takes up very little space and looks almost alloof. Now it's not ruining her chances cause the teachers know her and auditions are mostly to see in wich groups they would fit better, but she is not showing her best potential.

I can see this in other aspects of her life aswell and I am at a lost at how to approach this with her so that she does not self sabotage like that in the future.

Right now it's not a big deal, she dances for fun, and we put no pressure on her to do more, we just accompany her. But i've been there and self sabotaged myself alot and still don't know how to deal with it.

How would you go about it?

She really shuts down most conversations about this and I need ideas on how to work with her.

First year of comp? How was it?

I wanna know what the other fisrt timers think of their first year in comp?

My daughter is 10 ( almost 11) she had 2 numbers this year. We did 4 comps and nationals are comming end of june.

It was a good first year with much more positives than negatives.

We did not have to bring her big bag most of the time cause she never danced more than once a day, so no costume change on site needed.

Some of the venues were amazing, some were chaotic (I mean some dressing rooms are a joke).

I don't understand most of the judging systems, but at least I know in what range the got scored. I would love to see the actual scores not just the emerald, platinum, saphire, gold, diamond placement ( But I understand that for some people it can be triggering).

Would love to see a resumé of the results on the comp website or social media, soon after the comp or even updating live, but only one we did had that ( and not even all the scores just the top 20)

Awards can be fun but soo long also, and it's hard to figure out placement, like they get their score and placement in this segment, sometimes they get placement in their age group and style, sometimes overalls... honestly it got confusing...

The down time are sooo hard with an adhd kid and mom.. i mean if she dances at 8h30 and the first awards are at 11 am, but the overalls are at 3 pm.. it's long, i mean I'm ol sitting in the audience to watch the other numbers, but she gets booooored.

Also why are some awards mixing age categories? I mean munchkins and minis don't really stand a chance against seniors, it just feels unfair to the younger ones.

I'm still trying to figure out the schedule, like why are pre-comp mixed in with comp sometimes, and why is there, sometimes, one group alone in the middle of fifteen solos?

It's also frustrating that some venues don't even have snack or drinks available to buy on site.

Audience ettiquette is also confusing, some places people got wild for their school, others you could almost ear krickets...

And I got really surprised to see so many people with no social manners at all ( Are we all canadian???) Like your kid is not the only one in the space, it's not gonna ruin her chances if you are nice to the other competitors. The individualism attitude really hit me hard! And also dont steal from other dancers, don't move their stuff to put yours there instead, who does that? Also don't hog the practice space, everyone needs to practice, not just your group or school...

What was you first year like?

Funny dance quotes for shirts- next season

We just completed our last regional this weekend!

It was our first year and I saw soooo many people with custom shirts with their kids name etc.

But I want to make a funny one, nothing mean, but can be a little sarcastic. Now english is not my main language and if any of you have suggestions of funny dance/ dance daughter, quotes you can suggest I'm all ears (or eyes in this case).

Thx!
