Honestly, I think Conrad Fisher is written based on Leonardo Dicaprio.
No, I am not saying this because Chris Briney sort of look like Dicaprio, because the TV series kept giving Leo movie vibes (from the swimming pool scene in season 1 where Belly pulled Conrad down and the interaction in the water which is honestly quite similar to the Leo and Claire kissing scene in Romeo+Juliet, the fireside scene, to the scene where Conrad got hurt and the filming technic was almost identical to the scene where Jack drew Rose in Titanic), or because Jenny Han is a Leo fangirl since the 90s and seems to carry her crush well into the present, despite the fact that Leo is bloated and serial dating supermodels.
I'm saying this because of the introduction of Conrad in book 1 of Summer I Turned Pretty.
- Conrad had already four flirtations by, what, chapater 3? Belly, Nicole, ex girlfriend from highschool, girl from amusement park or something. That's more girlfriends than Jeremiah had through the three seasons, and the same number of boyfriends Belly finally achieved by the end of season 3. Yet Conrad, the guy who says he only loved once, doesn't seem the type to have sooo many love affairs, especially since he only one girlfriend after Belly if you count Agnus. Having four girls seems more like to quote Taylor Swift, "Leo In Saint-Tropez," "getting bitches and models."
- Conrad is born in 2004 november. Leo is born in 1974 november 11.
- On Conrad, "Conrad was eighteen now. He was taller than last summer, if you can believe it." Leo had a growth sprout at 17, 18. The book also said Conrad's hair was blonde and then turned brown as he grows older. The same applies for Leo.
As for why Conrad doesn't give Leo vibes at all in the show? Because no romance movie can remain a romance unless your type is ....... dude who dates younger than 25 girlfriend as Lukas Haas thirdwheels.
Edit: My point is that there might be a correlation between Conrad and Leo the way there is a correlation between Hardin Scott in After and Harry Styles.
