I am 7WPO and wish I would’ve found this sub sooner lol I wasn’t thinking. This has been my first surgery ever and truthfully the healing has been really rough for me. Last week I went in on Wednesday for a normal post Op and my surgeon made the decision to have surgery on Thursday. I had some dead fat tissue around the nipple and it was just not healing. So to have two surgeries within two months was scary to me. I don’t regret anything but just wanted to say this little community has brought me so much comfort. We are all so kind to each other and it’s nice to see where everyone is at whether your weeks post op or years. Or even pre op. It’s nice to know our feelings are valid. I love to read and comment. Just wanted to say thanks and I’m so glad so many of us are getting our surgeries scheduled, healing well, and happy with results. Sending everyone love on their journey.

Six weeks post op complications

Six weeks post op and having to go to surgery tomorrow for dead fat tissue necrosis in my breasts. These pictures are from about a week postop but I just wanted to share my experience. Last one is a month post op. Obviously healing was a bit hard for me. The first month was super difficult about a week ago. I just noticed that it seems like my nipple wasn’t healing that well and got an appointment on Monday with a nurse practitioner who then was able to get me an appointment for my surgeon on Wednesday… He took five minutes to tell me that I will have to come into surgery for tomorrow because there is dead fat tissue that he needs to get rid of . This is my first surgery ever so to have to go in a second time has me feeling super anxious and just overall sad because this has been a hard process. I really am happy with the shape and size of my breast overall but the healing is just taking a bit longer and I’m unsure why. I was a J and now I’m a D… Will update tomorrow after surgery please everyone send me your good vibes.

UPDATE: surgery went well and I’m feeling great today. Yesterday I was super drugged up but my surgeon got all the dead tissue out. In my case we think this happened because of the initial size of my boobs, how much he took out, and the further distance you move the nipple the bigger risks there is of loss of blood flow to that area. Collectively he removed 5lbs of breast tissue during the reduction. I’m feeling great and hopeful and cannot express my gratitude to have a surgeon that cares. I don’t want this to deter anyone. Complications can happen and arise. But this healing go round is already seeming much easier. I really appreciate your kind words to a stranger. I was so scared. Thanks little Reddit community
