So I may be late to the show and this may have been addressed but the hive is actively manipulating Carol’s stem cells to convert her to the hive mind? This is acknowledged in Season 1 Episode 9 with the conversation at about minute 49. This appears to be the catalyst for Carol returning to Manusos and agreeing to work on disconnecting individuals from the hive mind. I thought the free individuals could stay free and not be forced to join the hive against their will, but now it appears there is a loophole???
