Is this fixable?

I figured out why the spindle fell off my Elmo 16CL, it appears a piece of metal has cracked. Would I just be able to glue it back together and reinstall the belt to get it working again?

Problems with arms on Elmo 16CL

The arms on my Elmo 16CL are stuck open and I can't get them to close. Also, the spindle on the take up arm fell off. How do I fix both of these problems?

Edit: I wasn’t pressing the right button to get the arms to move. I still need help getting the spindle back on.
