Someone please tell me the reality of ECE-AI placements!

I'm in 2nd year. Only reply to this post if you're a 3rd/4th year ECE-AI senior.

I've seen lots of posts about ECE-AI placements, some seniors just start venting out saying "sabse kharab ece-ai ki placements hain, ece-ai toh bilkul bhi mat lena" and then some say "it's a decent and good option", it has left me so confused.

I need someone to tell me the unbiased reality of ECE-AI placements. I don't want rants or vents, I just want the objective truth. I know that it's not a dope branch like CS-AI, but I don't think ECE-AI is so bad (the quality of students is lower I agree due to JEE rank). I could be wrong and I just want to know what the actual scenario is so that I am prepared for 3rd year placement season.

If someone can do DSA without cheating, has a decent 2nd year internship, and has some decent projects, will a good candidate like them get filtered out from good opportunities just because they are in ECE-AI? I am only concerned on the opportunities part, because opportunity is all that matters.

And shouldn't ECE-AI get opportunities in both core and non-core?

2 years ago, I took ECE-AI because I thought that the curriculum was good, it had all the CS fundamentals and all important ECE subjects, and AI along with it (python, data science, ai, ml, dl, nn, all is there). I still feel the same way. Why do you think ECE-AI is not sought after by companies (if that's the case)? Is it cause of quality of students? Or is it something else?
