Ppl with no intern (urgent motivation needed)

Seniors, or whoever is experienced to answer this, what did you guys do when you couldn't get an intern, like neither through on campus drive neither through any referrals or off campus interviews or from anywhere...
and were you guys able to find a job/placement even without an internship experience or not getting an internship is the end of engineering career (specially when PPO culture is significant, atleast in our college)? Do you think engineering is a wrong career path?

Looking for my kind of people 🫠

Is there anyone else who somehow connects everything to patriarchy and consumerism? 😭

Like… anti fast fashion, against racism, misogyny, religious discrimination, capitalism/consumerism, questioning social norms, trying to be vegan (or already vegan), and generally just very tired of all the shitty things society normalizes.

I’m trying to find people who actually like talking about these things without it turning into a debate every five seconds 😭

I feel like I’m having a hard time finding people who think similarly, so… where are you all hiding? 👀

IGDTUW MCA Entrance — My Honest Take & Preparation Strategy

A lot of students have been asking me about the IGDTUW MCA entrance exam — how the paper was, what to study, what not to study, how much maths comes, whether PYQs are enough, etc. So I thought I’d divide the students into two categories: students preparing for NIMCET + IGDTUW and students preparing only for IGDTUW.
For those preparing for NIMCET, my biggest advice is: just focus properly on your NIMCET preparation. If your NIMCET preparation is strong, IGDTUW should not be extremely difficult for you. Talking about the maths level of our paper, it was somewhat easier/moderate compared with NIMCET 2026. NIMCET 2026 was quite lengthy, whereas our paper wasn’t like that. The maths level in our paper was manageable. The approximate distribution of our paper was 20 questions English, 20 Reasoning, 20 Mathematics, 20 C/C++, and 20 Basic Computer Science/Computer Organisation. So overall, Computer has a very significant weightage — around 40 questions.
One very important thing is that the IGDTUW paper pattern is NOT predictable. For example, in 2025 they asked C-based questions, in 2024 they also asked C questions, but in 2026 the programming section consisted of C++ output-based questions. Similarly, the Computer Organisation/basic computer section has also varied. In our paper, it was relatively basic, whereas in the previous batch it was comparatively harder. Reasoning was very easy for us and there weren’t really quant questions in our paper, but in 2025 they had asked quant. So please don’t prepare based on predictions like “this year only this topic will come.” Even if a teacher says that only certain topics will come or a particular mock is based on a specific pattern, don’t depend completely on that. My personal experience is: prepare everything.
For students preparing only for IGDTUW, I would suggest giving extra attention to the Computer section. For programming, prepare both C and C++ thoroughly — theory as well as output-based questions. Practice code tracing, loops, functions, operators, precedence, basic programming concepts and basic OOP concepts. Don’t prepare only output questions; theory is equally important because the pattern can change every year. Do as many C/C++ output-based questions as possible because even a small mistake in understanding the code can change the answer completely. Along with programming, prepare Basic Computer and Computer Organisation properly. Don’t study only the very basic definitions assuming that the same level as the previous year will come.
For Reasoning and Quant, prepare both. Don’t think, “Last year only reasoning came, so I’ll skip quant.” The pattern can change. If your maths is weak, don’t completely leave it. At least prepare manageable and formula-based topics like probability, permutation and combination, basic algebra, mean, median, mode, coordinate geometry, circle, ellipse and other important formulas. Even if maths isn’t your strongest subject, knowing these concepts and formulas properly can help you attempt several questions.
Around 1,200–1,300 students appear for the exam, while there are around 76 seats, with reservations applied category-wise. So obviously, competition for General category can be tougher because the number of seats available there is lower. For the exact category-wise seat distribution, I’ll leave that information in the comments separately so there is no confusion.
Talking about the cut-off, it generally goes around 70, but if you’re from the General category, I personally would suggest aiming for 75+ rather than targeting the bare minimum. I’m saying this based on my own experience of giving the paper and my estimation of my score. The actual cut-off can vary depending on the difficulty level and competition that year.
One BIG thing: don’t become dependent on mocks or PYQs. PYQs are useful, memory-based questions are useful and mocks are useful, but don’t make them your entire preparation. You can find previous-year/memory-based questions shared by students, including on platforms/groups such as Marolia, but use them for practice and understanding the pattern, not for predicting the next paper. Don’t do, “This mock is being conducted, so I’ll just prepare according to this mock.” Instead: Prepare → Give mock → Analyse your mistakes → Improve → Repeat. The mock should test your preparation, not become your preparation. The same goes for PYQs.
And most importantly, don’t panic — neither before the exam nor while attempting it. If your NIMCET preparation is genuinely good, you should be able to handle the IGDTUW paper. If you’re an IGDTUW-only student, cover all the sections properly, with extra focus on Computer and C/C++ theory + output-based questions. The paper is manageable if you have prepared well.
There is no negative marking, so make sure you attempt all 100 questions. Results are generally released around a week after the exam.
So my final advice is: Don’t try to predict the paper. Prepare yourself for whatever paper comes. The pattern has changed across years, so don’t skip subjects just because they weren’t asked heavily in the previous year. Prepare thoroughly, stay calm, and trust your preparation. All the best to everyone preparing for IGDTUW! ❤️

My main dilema is club society cause of planning and organizing events, interact cause I love public speaking (theatre kid core) ,pr well because I also like editing and all. So what should I join? Which of these will give me best opportunities and better networking and overall skill development and growth.

Is it possible to step into content creation with a CSAI background at IGDTUW?

Hie I'm a fresher at igdtuw and m so depressed first of all due to the infra😔 I just reallyyy hope that the college life goes good.

So my main question is that till the end of jee I've been a nerdy peanut BUTTT I've always wanted to step into content creation like yt nd ig that too srsly but I have no experience nd it feels too overwhelming that I'm editing a video for 3+ days. Which brings me to my point does the course allows you enough time to do something like this. I really want to I don't want to be miserable which I already am nd this is week 2 of college

I had dummy school so idk s*** bout python nd everyone knows one thing or the another. Is it practical to expect best from both life. Good cgpa nd a placement along w yt. Also ig i start now I best believe that I'd have some financial freedom which I really need. So main question:

Does the course allows enough time????

Nd feel free to reassure me I'm really depressed and dissatisfied.

Why the fck is IT and AIML being excluded from placement opportunities whereas ECEAI is allowed?

Can anyone tell me what the fuck is even happening ? On what basis are they excluding IT dept ? How are they even shortlisting ? I can understand if only CSE and CSEAI are allowed for a company but how is ECE also allowed then ? If circuital is allowed then everyone should be how are they shortlisting ki IT and AIML exclude ho jaa rahe h and ece and eceai allow ho rahe h ?

Wtf are we paying our college for? Or any college for that matter?

I've been thinking about this for a while, and honestly, I don't even know where to begin. Wanted to post this on linkedin bad then I thought screaming I had zero attendance out loud wouldn't be a good idea.

I think I'm getting really tired of pretending that everything about this system makes sense.

I'm in my second year of college, and here's the slightly embarrassing part: I barely attended any classes in my first year.

I still got an 9 CGPA.

And yes, I know, we're all doing it. Attendances are often a formality, exams become a memory game, and a lot of the actual learning happens outside the classroom.

But then I have to ask myself:

What exactly am I paying for?

My college costs around ₹1.28 lakh a year. That's more than ₹10,000 a month.

And because I don't live near college, there's the PG on top of that, which brings the cost to roughly ₹25,000 a month just for college + a place to stay there.

₹25,000 a month.

That's a LOT of money, especially when I genuinely don't feel like I'm getting ₹25,000 worth of value out of the whole thing.

And I'm a genuinely curious person. I love learning. I just don't particularly enjoy memorising information word-for-word because that's what an exam expects me to do.

The frustrating part is that I'm not even eligible for most scholarships because on paper, my family's income looks “decent.”

On paper, maybe it is.

In reality, ₹1.28 lakh is a LOT of money. And once you add the PG and everything else that comes with actually attending college, it gets ridiculous.

I keep thinking about what else that money could do.

How many students could get access to something they desperately need?

How many people could I help?

How many projects could be built?

How much could I learn if I had that money to actually experiment, explore, fail, build and try again?

I mean it. I have SO much to explore for free already. With that kind of money, I could probably do much more than what I'm currently getting out of college.

Instead, my parents are spending it so I can have a degree from a particular college.

So that I can tell people, “I'm from xyz college.”

And honestly?

Who gives a fuck?

Why have we collectively decided that the name of the institution you attended should matter more than what you actually know, what you can build, how you think, and what you contribute?

I genuinely have so much respect for people who choose to drop out.

Not because dropping out is inherently better than college.

But because there is something incredibly brave about looking at a system everyone tells you to follow and saying:

“I want to do something with my life instead.”

Maybe I'm just frustrated.

Maybe I'm wrong.

Very plausible.

But lately, learning in this country, earning in this country, and even figuring out how you're supposed to build a life here has started feeling like suffocation.

I'm not against education.

I'm against spending years and lakhs proving that I'm educated when I could be spending that time actually learning.

And maybe that's the question I'm struggling with right now:

Are we actually investing in education, or are we just investing in the right to say we went to the right place?

It just started out as a rant to GPT but I couldn't not post it somewhere honestly!

Looking for a Placement Prep Partner

4th year DTU student here (M), looking for someone who’s genuinely serious about placement prep and wants an accountability partner.

The goal is pretty simple: lock in and push each other to our limits.

  • DSA + core CS + aptitude/interview prep
  • Set daily/weekly targets
  • Regular check-ins
  • Call each other out when we’re slacking 💀
  • Share resources, approaches, and progress
  • Keep each other accountable till placements

Not looking for the usual “yeah bro let’s grind” and then disappearing after 3 days 😭

If you're also in your “fuck it, we’re getting placed” phase, DM me.
