🙏🙏🙏 pls someone send halp... Preferably cat 2 or cat 3 at most. rank 32k
I got a rank of 32k (bpcea) and i do think that I'll get btech biotech or cse with bioinformatics which is my field of interest. So coming back to the problem.. I do know that beyond cse/eee/ece placement opportunities are kind of limited. But everywhere on reddit I see this insane hatred towards private institutions especially vit. Doing a btech from here is laughable. But then again I'm 17 so I literally have no idea what to believe.. therefore I have come here. Is vit as an institute good? Like compared to other other colleges except the top ones? Also the intake is massive... And i just feel shit scared.
It's true I could not get into an iit or nit or bits because I did not sit for any of the exams (jee and BITSAT) and I'm not interested in any of the core branches except those related to life sciences. But ig I'm wrong for choosing something with minimal scope especially in a country like ours.
And everything results in either going abroad/mba/UPSC etc. am i stupid for wanting to go to vit or can I do better. I'll be sitting for iat but honestly I have never been a topper or a really intelligent student. I think I'm average but do not have the guts or brain to crack iat and get into a research institute like iiser... But even then I might struggle. Is it truly over if I am not a top student?
I gave viteee and got a 32k rank with which I might end up getting btech biotech (cat2/cat3)... but honestly I also like research but the questions of iat is on whole 'nother level. Like everytime I try to tackle the questions my brain goes numb.
I can still do bio, chem is somewhat alright but my biggest enemy right now is physics and maths. For context i never prepared for joint entrance exams and my concepts aren't so strong in either physics or maths. And I feel so shit scared as there's only 26 days left and i have been procrastinating ever since. I do think I'll probably move into vit and look for other career prospects. Of course iisers have much better alumni compared to a private institute. But idk. I'm suffering from decision paralysis. Because after some point I do want a job. IISERS provide placement opportunities at the start of fifth year but only for certain course and not many people sit for them. Plus you need a solid cgpa and good referrals ig. Because at the end of the day it's a research institute.. it is not a btech college where placements are the ultimate goal.
Should I go for research? I like life sciences as a subject but I don't know if I want to go down the bs ms route and then regret when my performance dips during college or i burn out half way through. Pls help.
Yeah as the title says. Boards ended some time back and i have been procrastinating ever since then. I'm a pcmb student for context but I was never a jee nor a neet aspirant. I solely focused on boards. But now that it has ended I hardly have any choice on what i should go for. I do like sciences as a subject but it's really mentally draining at times. My physics and maths is abysmally trash.. chem is alright but not that great and biology is manageable. Should I really go for this exam? I don't how I can prepare in one month. Can someone help me out?? I do want to do research and i have also dabbled in lab work quite a bit.. 😞
Pls mods don't remove this post 🙏
So I gave my boards almost 4 months back and till now I still haven't been able to decide about my career at all. I was neither a jee nor a neet aspirant.. i solely focused on my boards. For now I have only given VIT (btech biotech), got enrollment in Christ University Bangalore as well as St Xavier's for specific bsc programs and have been preparing for CUET for quite some time now. But tbh I just feel lost.
For context I'm a pcmb student but my physics and maths has always been really weak because of several conceptual errors. I filled the form for iat and nest but Im hesitating to give the exam because I have heard they are quite challenging. But I do want to get in a premier institute atleast something related to biological sciences but somehow also want to earn money at the same time. Unfortunately there's no correlation between these two aspirations.
What should I do? Should I just go down the general path and prepare for management or other exams for pg programmes to get into a premier institute (iisc, iits etc for Mtech) or start grinding for iat right now.. or maybe do btech and sit for off campus placements.. I'm just lost.. can anyone help me out?
Uhhh... So I joined a WhatsApp group from this sub before my boards and the people there were really helpful ngl. But as i had deleted most the chats and it was basically a community i cannot find it anymore 😭 😭 😭
Idk who the moderator was I think their name was Arhita or something but can someone plzz send me the link to the group if it exists anymore that is 😔😔😔😔
