Why so much hate??!?

Hey guys!!

Recently I have been seeing a lot of hate towards NEET aspirants, who have still hold on to seats at IISER. I was a NEET aspirant too. I took a drop just for NEET. Being a doctor wasnt my one true goal. I just loved the subject. This drop year i came across IISER through one of my teachers at NEET coaching and it genuinely perked my interest but i still kept preparing for NEET. Things went the other way and i couldnt crack NEET. But even without IAT oriented preparation i got a good enough rank in IISER and is planning to join IISER Mohali soon (already freezed). I am genuinely intrigued by the research path as it too fulfills my interest in the subjects and I will give my best.

But is the hate for people like us that had IISERs as plan B valid? Its just poeple in their late teens or early twenties trynna secure their future. AND THAT'S DEFINITELY NOT WRONG! Most poeple prepare for MBBS because of the stigma in India that it is the only career path for PCB students. Its good for them to have a second career path to consider.

Also i get the hate abt students who use IISERs as a place for partial drop. THEY'RE SIMPLY NOT! But towards students who are still holding onto seats?? Nahh. Some of them might actually do really good at research. And those who will get a gmc will leave the seat anyway which will be opened for further rounds for you guys. Have pateince !!

I just wanted to stop the hate trail. So its just my opinion :)

I've lost all hopes

I got 2.8k rank in iat and when the result came out I felt pretty satisfied and was sure I'll get mohali this year.. but now after being disappointed in every round , I have lost any hope that I'll get mohali... Before the exam, I just wanted to give my best and score good and thought I'll be happy with whatever IISER I get, but after getting the result, I had made up my mind for mohali. I've been offered bhopal for the past 2 rounds and my parents are very happy because it's near my hometown but deep down they too know I want mohali that's why they are letting me float. If it had been any other year, maybe I would've gotten mohali..but ig this year's not on my side. I know i should be happy that I'm getting bhopal though but I just cant feel that way because my expectations were shattered..

We are f' ed up guys!!!

Bruh I got 443x rank in IAT 26, and still not allotted an iiser seat, not even iiser bpr, I'm scared atp, will I even get a iiser seat this yr, let alone get into iiser tvm (my dream iiser), I was so positive I wud get into iiser tvm looking at last yr cutoff rank, but this reneet effect is so damn real and it's taking a toll on my mental health as I have no other options than this, really passionate about research and this is what they do???

Somebody plsss comment their opinions and what's ur angle to expected cutoff for r5??

We've seen cutoff relaxations, empty seats, extra counselling rounds for lots of colleges and exams counsellings, Why? Why? This fcking IAT counselling is so unpredictable? Even nest got empty seats ig? Idfk is it just neet people or everyone this year wants to become researcher? Idfk? I-

I'm so done being me atp.

Reality of the Professor from IISER B: Real Indian Research World

IISER Bhopal, Professor Sangit Kumar in the Department of Chemistry.

Update: No action has been taken. NOTHING AT ALL.

Incidents that occurred one year ago, and the case still remains unresolved, even after the ICC's conclusion. Neither the ICC nor the competent authority has replied to me for about 2 months now. Is this how the system tries to save the offender and bury the case? My mental state has been in shambles, and I want to put a stop to it. I may never get the justice and closure I deserve, but I fought for upcoming women, wishing they never go through this. At this point, I am exhausted from fighting this system. Adding to my misery, all the lab members (even those who had graduated and started their PhD abroad) lied in their testimonies. Was I shocked? Probably No!! But totally heartbroken and disturbed. I informed the ICC about attempts made by the Professor to tamper with witnesses. Still, instead of considering that, they ruled out the evidence I provided (I attached some; I have all of those, mostly voice recordings) and dismissed some of the allegations. Talk about saving the offender again! This is the future of Indian Research and IISERs- full of offenders and their supporters. I am ashamed of this system and totally exhausted. I want to expose this so that other women know the reality and, maybe one day, dare to speak up if something unfair or wrong is happening to them.

Some of the statements passed by fellow lab mates (all women)-

  1. "But he didn't do anything physical, right?" Speechless.
  2. "Why are you hell bent on breaking his home? Think about his wife and family"-WHY WOULD I? Did he think about his wife and daughters while doing this? I am also someone's daughter; I do have a family, too.
  3. "Why would she go to the party if she didn't want to consume alcohol?"
  4. From a previous victim (she graduated before I joined, but she told me herself that she went through the same thing during her final year in 2022-23). "You shouldn't have complained. Even if you had to, you should've done this while you were still there. Filing the complaint after graduating and being on the safe side is just so selfish. Doesn't make sense" Sister, I am not stupid; I was smart enough first to earn my degree, and I was brave enough to open my mouth, unlike you. If you had any moral compass in your soul to do what I did, I would NEVER have gone through this in the first place! Does this make sense now?

Some of the falsified testimonies by current PhDs, his wife, and graduated BS-MS students-

  1. "There was so alcohol involved in the party"-Senior PhD bhaiya, do you ever even attend any party that does NOT involve alcohol? Weren't you the one who warned him about his behaviour (multiple times) that he could be in serious trouble if I ever complained?
  2. "We just had pizza and watched YouTube videos"-graduated BS-MS, now pursuing PhD abroad. Just that, are we in preliminary school? Really? I trusted you with the info, thinking you were my friend, and you used it in his favour. Thank you!
  3. "There was no alcohol at the party"- graduated BS-MS. You were the reason I helplessly had to stay overnight at his home, because you couldn't even walk straight after being "forced" to consume alcohol, and we could be caught at the main gate. Why else would we stay there overnight?
  4. "She made a lot of excuses and had no research progress"-current PhD. Let's keep the progress topic for another day. Would you harass someone if chemistry is not chemistry-ing in the reaction?
  5. "She was usually the one who insisted more strongly on having parties"- his wife. Ma'am, before objecting to this statement, I want to know if this gives your husband a free pass to harass young women? First of all, make it make sense.
  6. "He never had any direct discussion with her"- current PhD. I hope you are not too blind to see these chats.

More than the incidents themselves, betrayal by people I thought were my "friends," or at least "morally right," was gut-wrenching. Thank you for the constant resistance, it ONLY made me stronger. Even if I had to sacrifice my degree, career or life to expose this, I would still do it a million times over. (I shouted the same statement at him during the confrontation) Why? Because I get to sleep at night, knowing that I am doing the right thing.

Annoying ahh notifs every hour giving me a heart attack

Like I GET IT BRO. I'LL FLOAT MY OPTION. THATS ENOUGH F*KING REMINDERS.

How's the math rigor at IISER Berhampur now?

I remember reading posts back in 2025 about the discontent of students with regards to the math department at IISER berhampur. Has the situation changed? The faculty seem relatively active looking at the website however looking at the curriculum MTH101 has less rigor than the other IISER's courses.

I'm unsure if this is because of the expectation that people getting into Berhampur wouldn't have taken math in their 11th and 12th but looking at the inflation I don't think that assumption works anymore since the caliber of students getting into Berhampur this year would probably be equivalent to those getting into Mohali-Bhopal last year (assuming IAT was a perfectly accurate measurement of intellect and ability).

Looking at IISER tvm in comparison, MTH101 involves groups and symmetry while I've read single variable calc involves rigorous epsilon-delta proofs, such specifics aren't mentioned in the syallabus so I was wondering what the situation of the math department and the math ug courses at berhampur is now. According to the syllabus even probability is encountered in only the 3rd year while it's encountered earlier in some of the other IISERS.

IMPACT OF MCC COUNSELLING ON IAT COUNSELLING (BUFFY DUCKY SAYS)

Although this isn't verified and is only my speculation- I feel the movement of the cutoff is constricted because MCC has announced round 1 of the counselling and many students won't get a seat there leading them to occupy the seat here in this counselling.

Although another reason being that - IISERs and research aren't gatekept anymore- i have seen many people in the recent days showing interest in research- Moreover people do slowly discover their area of interest during this phase- which is leading to THEM GOING FOR IISERs - this partly explains the reason why the seat occupancy and ranks are suffocated in the 2000-3500 range - people below this rank ( <2000) have done well in NEET and JEE mostly too. People in this range consists of three types of people - people who decided on research beforehand, people deciding to go for it now, and people thinking of partial drops.

My well wishes to first two types of people since they have decided or are still deciding and have a good chance to do good in research however for the last type i wanna say - Please reconsider and re-evaluate your choices since partial drops are never meant to work out in the end at IISERs and your decision might affect an honestly interested one. No hate to anyone and wont encourage anyone spreading hate too

PEACE.

IIT Prof's advice: 5 Non-Academic Things to Remember Before Going to College

Now, This was some quality content i just watched and could not help but share will my fellow people.
I have been to hostel in my class 12th, and i could relate many of it, still i would say it was helpful to remind me things and to not repeat certain mistakes in college life.

I watched this while i was dowloading a peak brainrot movie titled as MAIN HOON LUCKY THE RACER (RACE GURRAM) in the background.

Surely, the best 15 minutes spend in last couple of days.

Sir gave advise like a senior rather.
and the video was engaging even without any of editing effects and cheap tactics.

This my 2nd time posting about sir in this sub, But i will clarify, i am not into any promotion, it is just that i admire it so much, and this sub has been a family of mine, I shared it.

Sir talked about
Making friends, Extra curricular activities, health and many more in details.

I will recommend everyone who are going to join college
(any college, not necessarily IISERs)

Hopes vs reality

Hey guyss i wanna share few things regarding iiser cuz I am observing this iiser conceling from the first day(R1) and what I found is-:

1.actually it's neet aspirants who are creating problems and especially those neet aspirants who are supposed to have mbbs seats through mcc conceling and state mbbs conceling still they are holding a seat in iiser so i believe as the way mcc conceling will start and as the way state conceling will start moving surely we will gonna see relief in upcoming iiser rounds might be in round 5 or 6 surely a major jump will be shown trust me.

2.this year courses which belongs to maths background like economic sci, economics science and statistics and even btech they are performing well ,means those jee aspirants who got their seats in nit, iit, iiit have moved towards their college they hadn't created any scene to this iiser conceling

3.iiser behrampur is slower down after round 3 means very minimal jump has been shown so that's the proof neet aspirants have freezed their seats in any iiser especially in iiser bpr cuz they know iiser behrampur is the only iiser their reporting starts at the last means minimum 6-7 rounds later so they will not have any issue they will successfully have iiser as a backup and when ever they will find seats in mbbs, bds they will left this iiser so in later rounds iiser behrampur will gonna show very realistic movement ✨🧿
