The audacity is real!

Here's someone selling a bond no 9 fragrance for a low price. And look, they have a receipt to verify purchase. Wow!

Only problem is Sephora hasn't carried the bond no 9 brand since the 2010s and certainly wasn't selling this frag in February 2026.

Why are people such horrible liars and scammers? This honestly infuriates me

Why don't sellers respond to questions?

I'm a perfume collector, so that's what I predominantly buy on Mercari. I've scored some amazing finds. However, I've found that:

  1. Many sellers don't provide adequate descriptions (they'll copy and paste the notes but won't mention anything about the age of the fragrance, how/where it was stored, sometimes not even the size of the bottle or whether it's an EDT/EDP/Elixir).

  2. About 80% of sellers I contact don't respond to the most basic questions. I am always polite and to the point but usually don't hear back from sellers. Below I'm posting verbatim some of my recent inquiries that went ignored:

- Hi, I can't tell from the pics how full the bottle is. Could you post a picture showing how much juice is left? Thank you.

- The box says these are all sprays, but your description states they are dabbers. Can you confirm which one is correct please? Thanks.

- Hello, What size is the bottle? I this an EDP or EDT?

- Hi, I see some rust on the bottom of the bottle. Do you know how this fragrance was stored?

- Would you consider selling the perfume without the lipstick? Let me know. :)

All my questions are in this vein. Why are sellers ignoring questions? To be clear, it's not that they don't respond right away; it's that they don't respond at all.
